I'm not sure I quite endorse the 'free shot' sentiments.

There's more expectation on Richmond externally, yeah, but Hawthorn won't be viewing this game with any less pressure on their shoulders then the Richmond lads.
Take your point. Of all clubs the Hawks have most reason to think they can win the big games. "free shot" doen't really fit the culture.
Are the players up to it is the question, as always.

Have great sympathy for G Whately, and his appalling experiences having to wait an extra week for finals. What a devastating blow. I don’t know who wins tonight but I do hope Gerard loses his voice and his admittance card doesn’t scan.

He's like the Bono of the AFL. He was once a refreshing voice who had interesting and important things to say. Now he's just a sanctimonious arseh*le.

What do we think the crowd spilt will be tonight? 50K Tigers, 35K Hawks and 5K neutrals?

Pretty close your estimation.

We’re doing the finals dance again!!

Can you believe it.?

Thank you RFC.:hearteyes::leopard:

I would prefer Richmond to win for selfish reasons, but I feel like Clarko has something up his sleve. Should be a cracking game

Would you be confident playing Hawthorn in a Grand Final again? Think you would win this time.

We have already beaten the Hawks in Melbourne this year, although that was Etihad. But Optus dimensions are closer to MCG now so I'd be confident. I'd prefer them than your mob anyway.

Great to have finals back again, as a long suffering tiger supporter before last year there was nothing sweeter.

Somewhat worried we are getting tired. However also think that if we bring our best we will be too much for the hawks, Martin and Cotchin need to be in the center and around the contest practically all game, no resting them forward at all this week. Win it at the source and an inexperienced hawks defense might start to panic.

Go tiges!

Hawthorn are absolutely atrocious at Etihad.

Not having a dig at all, but since we boast Frawley, Stratton, most likely Burgoyne for a while during the game, Sicily and Hardwick who is into his third year, are we THAT inexperienced??

It bothers me not but I find it intriguing that a wonderful club like Hawthorn who have basically schooled the comp for the last 40 years will be the more popular result for opposition fans than the tigers who’ve been putrid for the same time.
Takes me way way back to being the truly hated team.
Imagine 2 years ago if somebody said “I hope Hawthorn can beat big bad Richmond in the finals!”
Best.

All the best to all teams, and fingers crossed no injuries.

I think you would really have to dig deep into the record books to find the last time #4 beat #1 in the 1st week of finals...

For that reason, I will stick with my original tip: Richmond 19pts

And whilst we're talking about records, #1 has only won the premiership twice in the past 10 years..

Think people just want to see Richmond win a big game away from home rodders.

Bugger that mate, that means we’d have to lose just to go to Perth Maybe.
They can wait til next season I promise.

I kind of want to see Jack sing Jimmy Barnes this year so I'm partial to a Richmond win again mate.

Have fun tonight.

I think it's got more to do with the supporter base more than anything.

Richmond are a fairly unoffensive team, but because their supporter base is pretty large + the Grog squad, people are unattractive to supporting an already premiership-winning club.
