Will Hayward
Spritely Sydney Swans forward Will Hayward enjoyed a rocketing start to his career as he became the 11th-youngest player in the AFL era to reach 50 career goals in 2018. The 2016 draftee’s nippy pace and cunning goal awareness have made him a dangerous option in coach John Longmire’s forward line. A broken jaw and a persistent hip injury limited Hayward to just 12 goals in 13 senior games in 2019, but the South Australian is attacking the 2020 campaign on the back of his first full pre-season. Don’t be surprised if the exciting Swan finds himself on a wing this year.

Will Hayward
DOB: 26 October 1998
DEBUT: 2017
DRAFT: #21, 2016 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Walkerville (SA)/North Adelaide (SANFL)

Pressure acts is immediately under General Play, next to TOG.
Oh I meant they don't include pressure acts in the list of involvements you can watch, unless it's something definitive like a tackle, smother or spoil. But putting chase on someone or closing their time and space for example isn't included.

Have we actually ever tried Hayward anywhere else for a decent patch of a game? I can't remember him going on ball or defence in games for instance.

Why couldn't he try something different if he isn't impacting a game

This week he hasn't played yet

Afl don't keep a heat map of day to day activities . Maybe they do, maybe we all have heat maps ?

Wonder what yours is like? :p

Oh wow, just found that....

Thank you!

For a player that gets flung around like a lanky band, he sticks his fair share of tackles against the players you mentioned above. Bearing in mind Heeney and Warner play more mid time than Wayward.

Also his goals stack up against your nominated players too. He is around abouts.

I just don 't get the Hayward hate.

I know goals and tackles don't tell the whole story. There are 1 percenters and other stats.

I'm a fan of the fella

But the Hayward hate is simple he's a rich kid that became a richer guy whilst having a smile on his face.

Nothing blue collar about him or the way he plays to some people so tall poppy syndrome comes out

Just shows how some just don't understand and the use of the name hate just shows that

With all due respect this is a shocking take.

To suggest people are rating players based on class is presumptive at best, offensive at worst.

That was a totally wrong decision. He played on. How can it be 50 if a player plays on. But the reality is the umpiring was a disgrace. It didn't help that 2 umpires were Queenslanders. Home town umpiring all game. Just not our home town

But the reality is, our coach had no idea. He made a bade decision at the selection table and Joel again rucked. You ****ing idiot this takes our most dangerous forward out of the forward line and makes it difficult for him to keep rhythm. You are a ****ing genius if you think it is a good idea to take Tom out of the forwards, not replacing him with anyone, with Amartey in the ruck for extended periods.

Why not send Hamling, who was doing a great job, forward? You ****ing dickhead! Cox, if you want to be an AFL coach, you have got to be better than this. It was an absolute disaster.

Thought he made a lot more contests today and applied more pressure in general but his marking has eluded him. I suppose with the two key forward setup he might be getting a better aerial defender each week from now on?
