Guys I have posted about this 3 times now.

My mail is, without being arrogant the best on this forum.

Please believe me.

LDU will commit.

He will be paid an unprecedented amount of money and his managers are shopping him around to boost those numbers.

But

This whole excercise is a formality.

Zero chance of not being at North long term.

Stop worrying.
If he is being paid 'an unprecedented amount of money' is there any chance he could get his kicking up to scratch?

Put him in a side with the talent on our list with another 22 games of experience into the next gen group his kicking which is not an issue will be elite.

Pay him 100k more a season than whatever shit truck sides like StKilda Essendon offer him

He will win a Norm Smith in a North jumper

I want to sit in crowds like Saturday night where there is a huge amount of nervous energy that transitions into joy.
I’m probably in the minority here but I honestly don’t think we are that far away from being able to enjoy these days / nights once again , during the home and away season at least .

Growing up in the 90s , was a great time to be a roo with all the wins , finals and premierships but I think the most enjoyable and exciting time as a supporter is when the club starts its rise up the ladder and goes from being a mediocre to good then a very good football team & that personally is what I can’t wait to share with my kids who have had a horrible 5 years .

Now I’m 100% certain …

I can completely see what you are saying. I get it I really do.

For myself I refuse to believe that we have turned any sort of corner until I see it on field. I actually need to see us win games of footy, not just have good quarters or at best 25 minute lapses in games which other teams route us during.

I don't think I place unrealistic expectations on what I think we can and should do. Last year I set the bar of what I thought would be progress at 6 wins. 6 wins would only have moved us a single spot on the ladder, but it would have represented progress that we were moving not just finding new ways to lose.

To that end I am reserving any of my judgement or what I think we can do until we start doing it. No amount of fluff coming out of the club nor what should happen in terms of developmental uplift is true until we start having Ws.

Again in 2025 I want to see us win 6 games, enough to say yes there is clear improvement and they are actually building towards something. Not barely holding on to where they are while players who shouldn't be are under performing.

I’ll take the joy of your team rising from shit floating in a public toilet to mediocre.
That would be us rising to 2017 levels then.

If we can reach the fantastic* levels of 2018 it'll blow your mind.

Still spewing he didn’t kick that goal. Would’ve been the best goal kicked by a North player since Wellsys jacky Chan goal.
The goals against Richmond were bloody good. The instant reply goal was poetic in timing. Then the one from the arc stoppage, sprinting at full pace collecting the ball from Xerri, swatting away the childlike richmond players and thumping that goal in was a worthy replacement as his best career goal.

I long for the days of when we were only good enough to make prelims but go no further.

Agree. How good was ‘93! Most enjoyable H&A season of the 90s run.

The correct view. And may I add to this, no falling for pre-season performances either. Last year we had posters coping with 'well the Pies had Daicos x2 and De Goey, so technically they weren't that weakened.' Yeah let's just ignore that they were basically missing their entire support brigade for those stars, and that no one gives a shit about pre-season runarounds.

I know that collective hope amongst footy fanbases takes a natural flow, and peaks around Feb, but I'd trust that we've all been burned enough to remain stony-faced until the team actually ****ing achieves something beyond a win every six seven weeks that involves relying on opposition blunders in the last fifteen minutes

Worse is thinking that training on the track well translates simply to being first picked in the team.

Pick the best side to win a game. In round 1, we had Stephenson, Tucker, Stephens, Lazzaro, Dawson in the side based on great running on the track. Yet we still managed to fit a hobbled Corr (who would take half the season to get going).

Stony-faced until the premiership cup is hoisted above the dias. Got it.

Are those the only two available options?
Yep.

You’re either cheering them on for running laps or you’re never cheering them at all until there is silverware involved.

These are the only two options.

Pick one. 😉
