Good that we get to see the SL tour but come on Foxtel you show the European cricket league but not the SL tour, poor form.
Yep I’m going to complain about the endless ads on ch7 that’s why I watch all my sport on Fox/Kayo, plus the better commentary (most of the time) there are exceptions.
So what’s left of my brain is going to be assaulted with endless mindless cross promotion of some f grade “reality” show during the ads and probably the hosts/commentators who had no work in that timeframe so not the cream.
Well at least it’s on and maybe I can sync to sen but I don’t no who’s ads are worse 7 or sen. I’ll suck it up and deal with it knowing this footy season I don’t have to listen to BT once because of the new broadcast deal.

7 will 100% take the broadcast by SLC. If Ponting or one of 7’s normal commentators are part of the broadcast, they might send 1 person & have their own pre match & post sessions and post match stuff.
IIRC they sent JB to England for the WTC final & was joined by Langer, Ponting & Hayden who were part of the ICC broadcast.
Maybe they might do what 9 does with having a studio program instead of sending someone to

It could be good to have the SL tour on 7. That way we wont have the fox team call it from a studio

I doubt they’ll do a Pakistan which makes me question why just the second Test - I would suggest to you that both pitches and Tests will take turn from ball one

Pakistan vs West Indies, another Test series Fox Cricket didn't want, is available to watch via the Sports Central YouTube channel. I can understand Fox not wanting the rights to this series in fairness.

In the 1990s in terms of overseas non-Ashes Oz Tests on FTA:
- ABC showed the one-off Test Australa played in NZ in 1990.
- Ch 9 had live coverage of the 1991 West Indies tour.
- Ch 9 also had live coverage of the 93/94 South Africa Test series (although not all as it conflicted with other prime time shows).
- Ch 10 showed the 1995 West Indies tour
- Ch 7 had the 96/97 South Africa tour (again not all of it as it conflicted with prinetime programming)
- While they didn't have live coverage, Ch 9 showed highlights of the 1996 one-off India Test, 97/98 India Test series and the 98/99 Pakistan Test series.
Reckon it would be good for cricket if they showed a few more games on Ftv. It wasn’t untill I was an adult that i had paytv and cricket basically was non existent till the summer rolled around. Jan/feb tours they usually do to SA and NZ would actually be prime away tours.

my vague memory was that Optus (Sports Australia) showed that 1996 one-off India Test?
my other pay tv memories:
- 1995 Windies tour shown on Galaxy (remember them?)
- earliest Foxtel cricket memory is them showing a tri-series from India (India, Australia, and I think Sri Lanka?), which they just put on as replacement programming because netball (?) got cancelled

- 1996/97 South Africa tour shown live on Fox8 (back when Foxtel only had maybe 2 Fox sports channels. and no commercials, so Simpsons episodes aired during the lunch break)
It was 30/60 minute highlights packages at various times the following day. If memory serves they were shown at 10:30am or so.
