Picks can only be assessed years down the track, but I'm still stoked.

Justifies the decision to trade out Bernie. We should be more aggressive in trading out 25+y.o. non elites.

When a player like Crouch gets to pick 23, you pick him regardless of needs. There is no point picking up a ruck if you can just get them in the rookie draft (Lobb was the only other ruck taken anyway). Sando has hinted that we will definitely take one in the RD. And besides guys like Freeman and Kelly, there weren't many standouts for that outside mid type.

You can also never have enough guys on the list who can just rack up the ball like he does. Kicking and endurance are things that usually rapidly improve once a player is in the system. And if he ends up a Priddis type player, we have still done extremely well.

Imagine if we had not have taken Talia 3 or 4 years ago, when he probably wasn't a priority need with Bock and Davis still on the list? With your first pick, you take best available everyday of the week.
 
Bloody LOVE that we got Matty Crouch. Perfect replacement for Thompson when he retires in a year or two. Was surprised he went so low and that the filth didn't pick him up. Great to see we are finally having some luck :)

Initial reaction is that I'm gutted we didn't take Lewis Taylor, Hartung or Cutler given they were available.

Still, Crouch is a Crow now so I'll back him all the way.
 
Sorry I think we have over paid here. Hopefully his well documented deficiencies can be ironed out and he can be a decent player for us .

Interesting to see how far he would have slid if we didn't have the bro thing going on

Hopefully we have found an inside beast to replace Thommo. If all goes to plan then Danger can become a more outside player that gets the Crouch handball and explodes away. Family moving to Adelaide will cement them as one club players. Stoked.

How can you say we have overpaid on a kid who 2 months out from the draft was predicted to go top 10-15?

Wish people would ignore the trash talk going around about him and let his footy do the talking.
