So long as it doesn't end up costing us Greenhead I think this is another good signing. We've got a real nice mix of class and grunt in our midfield rotations now and he helps fill that gap in our playing list (players between 25-28 years of age)

Like Dal last year. Will earn us a good reputation at the trade (FA) table and, hopefully, help get other deals done that we're after.

Can't help but think IF Levi goes, this factors in somewhere given the general consensus that the espoused figures are high (enabling a good compo pick).

That snap on the left was all class.

All of it was all class I reckon, especially the play before that left foot snap where he gets it in the middle, sidesteps a player and immediately seizes his option and hits a 50m pass to Jones. I know it was against GWS but if he actually meant to kick it there, then that is pretty sublime. Contrast this with forward entries from Swallow/Gibson etc and you can imagine what a weapon he could be in our side.

It would really make a difference in that as opposed to having it chopped off and rebounded easily, it would be us that would be having a shot on goal. The more classy users we can get the better. And on top of this he looks a genuine goal-kicker as well. Oh and how about that one handed pick-up whilst fending off a player with his other arm :thumbsu:

I'm not concerned about his apparent softness, or injury clouds. But does this mean our 2nd round pick gets smashed back one spot? fml

Good get by you guys. He'll add a bit more polish to your team which IMO I think you need a bit more of (so do we :( ) A lot of Dogs fans just hated Higgins, not sure why? He would have been a handy player for us had he stayed. Concern would be the 4 years but seemed to be injury free for the entire 2014 so it may turn out OK. Good luck to him.

Good signing imo. Never mind the 4 year contract as he turns 27 in March and likely wont be finishing until 30+ anyway.

He's always been touted as having plenty of potential and is capable of turning into an A grader. Unfortunately being at the doggies like Melbourne has been unable to go to the next step. How many times does it happen when you put these types of players in a better side and they improve out of sight.

A very good signing and will probably be the most versatile player at the club now.

Very happy with this.

Hitting his prime, and IF he stays injury-free, adds another high quality ball user to our list. Would love to see him playing around the half forward line, with stints in the midfield. His ball use into the forward line is sublime, and really will help us. Very exciting to have him, worst case he plays the sub role, best case he reaches the potential he promised when he was younger. Can hit the score board.

Low risk high reward for mine. Stoked to have both him and Waite signed already, means we can look at other options over the coming weeks.

It's really just the injuries early in his career that's made him unable to take the next step. Lost a lot of pace.

Agree he'll be better in a better side though. We were using him off half back where he's not suited purely because our list is shocking skill wise. Same reason why we use Murphy down there.

His "softness" is somewhat overstated, he's never going to be Jack Zeibell, but as can be seen by his highlight reel, given a little space and played in the correct position his kicking can be sublime, if very occasionally wonky, and he seems for the most part to have put his injuries behind him. He has similar attributes to Dal and that trade has worked out well for you and I see no reason why this one shouldn't as well.

Good luck to him.
