Came here to post this. Wright gets injured before GF. Enter Chook. Monster pack mark with 10 seconds to go. Match winner after the siren.

I Love it when he holds it up after clunking it to say “I got this” because we are all unsure if he actually does — and if he will kick it.

Generally kicks the clutch ones though 👍🏻

Missed him terribly today. Would have given us a contest and protection for our players. Without him we just have Draper. Unless we are picking up a decent tall forward in the trade would have kept him on the list even if he is on his last legs. Hope he gets a lap and a send off in front of 80,000 next year.

I'm in the camp that Chook would have been better than Wright yesterday, but hindsight is easy. Additionally going forward it's more valuable for Wright to learn from the game even if I would have preferred Chook to at least get a send off in front of the Tassie crowd.

I'm really gonna miss Chook and has been an Essendon champion. Go and make us some excellent vino please.

I wish I had the ability to articulate how much I respect and love this bloke as a footballer.

The joy and passion he's brought , during probably the toughest period in the club's history, has been priceless. Such a damn good footballer and leader.

Hope the club finds a way to keep him involved somehow, even in an unofficial capacity. We need the presence of champions like Cale around the club to keep moving it forward.

Wright has some great tools but I’m not too sure he will ever be a week in, week out kind of guy. Needs some swag, needs about one tenth of Toby Greene’s white line fever.

Chook delivered week in, week out for many, many years. Reliable, very talented and mentally tough.. Absolute warrior.
