In a good way he looked shorter tonight. He didn’t look like a KPP we are trying to force into a wing spot. I was getting him a Durham a bit confused at a glance at times. It’s a good thing.

Soft as butter. You can put him in the fridge, can't spread him. Leave him out no good to you either. Useless this time of year and probably September.
Bizarre take based on Q1.

If he can develop the wing role into a 16 or so possession and 4 or so mark game most weeks and chime in now and then for goals then he has a role. Just another under pressure to make a step up. Thought he was okay last night. Just has to find the footy a few more ties a quarter.

Geez i thought Jones was good last night, and there is something there. He could really break out this year. Not sure I'd play him wing, but a bit like Jeremy Cameron a roaming role back to goal would suit.
He’s been threatening for years.

Was drafted as an energiser bunny who could go all day and is good below the knees as well as aerially, sort of a third tall at 196cm. Grew up an Essendon supporter and loved being around the club, was even involved with the recruiting team a bit in his second year iirc. “Good kid”. Low key favourite of mine, if I had favourites.

His first year was 2020 covid hubs and he had to play in the stupid scratch matches, second year he basically started over with the Cox, Perkins, Reid cohort and was a brilliant kick for goal when we finally got a look at him in the seniors, I think he went like 16.1 for the year or something similar, contested marks everywhere. Then the foot/ankle problems put something of an end to that for a while. I think it was something to do with the growth plates in his foot needed to be pinned?

Took him a while to get back from that and then a back fracture before he earned a contract extension last year… Hasn’t quite taken that next step since.

Maybe this year the stars will finally align for him…

If the AFL could just make it 5 on bench I'd definitely have him as a tall utility.
But it's the AFL unfortunately
May well happen in another year or two, the concussion sub was originally potentially five on the bench but the coaches preferred the sub option. Brad Scott mentioned it shortly after he became our coach as it was something he was involved in during his time at the AFL.

A Dodo master stroke.

Seriously though, he was good and is starting to build consistency given H2 last season and so far this year (including pre season).
