Our lack of depth is crazy. I don’t care how bad our injury list is currently. Too many skinny kids. We don’t do enough weights.

In fairness, we had so many suburban footy players in that game, the fade-out isn’t surprising.
Particularly since we appeared to bench a few of the AFL listed guys in the last Q.

Still, it was pretty pathetic.

How can you ignore our injury list when discussing depth?

The fact we are still fielding a competitive senior team despite missing so many good players, shows we have very good depth.

I think if Mils Gulden Papley Cunningham McInerney Melican Adams Dattoli Leidler were all coming back last week,,.... We might have done better in the reserves..

VFL is not an unlimited list, when you have the injuries we have they are pulling guys from the academy or SFL ….our depth looks pretty good when you see how the senior team went. Imagine seven or eight of them back in the VFL. Most would be very stiff to miss senior selection. Depth is fine.

One decision that was a bit baffling to me was they didn't pick a back-up for Green in the ruck. We had Podmore Taylor, who played as 23rd man in Rd 1, listed as an emergency after being omitted. Only had 6 disposals and 6 HO, but could have been brought in to at least give Green a bit of support. Same could be said with omitting Endemann, who had 17 disposals and 3 clearances in Rd 1.

I'd prefer us to have someone else decent to select to ruck and let Buller play mostly forward. Not sure that Podmore-Taylor is the answer though.
