Great interview. He's seems to be in a great sweet spot of experience both professionally and personally where he can be both cuddly and tough and do it with credibility with the whole club and even the AFL.

I'm loving this new brush from President to Coach where we aren't cowering. Calling out the systemic inequities that abound within the AFL.

He was that year. Just means not many others had a good year to knock him off. I think they rated it top 10 by position. Probably other clubs rotated players through while Richo stuck him there for 22 games.

You misunderstand their rating system. Compared to everyone who plays in that position, he was rated elite.

It doesn't make him an elite player, or elite in any other position. It's specific to the position and the stats he gains when playing that position.

To be elite, players must rank in the top 10 per cent of their position — key defenders, general defenders, midfielders, wings, mid-forwards, general forwards, key forwards or rucks — while playing at least 10 matches.

Having just read the paywalled article in todays Age, I have so much more admiration for Barry Breen for how he handled himself in the years following the stain of not being thanked or acknowledged for his part in saving St.Kilda. It feels like the club has lifted a significant curse and hopefully leads us to future sucess. A small gesture perhaps by the club, but for Breen and co its closure. Well done to all!!

Mainly that guy bugs me because he always talks about "He's ability. He's position." Its bloody HIS , i know , i'm sure i learnt it reading "John and Betty" in preps John has a ball, its his ball. He's going to let Betty play with his ball.
