Yeah wouldn’t be opposed to trying Gov forward again myself but I just reckon they will want his kicking skills from the back half.

MSD might see us looking at a 3rd tall forward option now depending on severity of injury.

We should have just selected McMahon rather than Evans as a SSP

Motlop was much better yesterday & his step & awareness seems better suited to midfield that up forward.

HHF + more CBA’s for mine.

He just doesn’t have the pace of Durdin or Williams.
I agree I've liked Motlop getting up the ground. I think his endurance and defensive effort has improved significantly. Pretty good field kick as well.

I know we only played the eagles but there was definitely a shift on how we played. We played on and looked for players in better positions all day a shift from that stoic slow moving style.
Agree Benny, be careful you don’t mention too many positives from yesterday’s game. A few only want to focus on the negatives…:)

Watched the replay all I can say is Simmo Darling and Barass would be happy to be out of there-- very long way back for them.. I would still take cripps on he has some juice left - personally I would of been hunting him 2 -3 years ago

thought Hollands was a liability. Again.

He’s an interesting one, does good things but then mars them with what seems to be slow decision making and transferring this from hand to foot. Mots was similar but different, holds onto the ball too long.

Ollie needs a brain that works a bit quicker.

Fogarty got caught badly on the wing yesterday taking forever to get rid of it. I noticed later in the game he adjusted and then moved the ball a lot quicker and kicked that beautiful goal.

Mots need to learn to collect the ball and quick release it by hand or foot, seems to take an extra couple of seconds or move only to get caught.

Entirely agree. Not a gun - yet- by any stretch. But I feel he’s taken a big step this season …. and building. Decision making still frustrates occasionally but he’s getting at contests and making a contribution. The trajectory is positive, especially for someone still 21.

Don’t want to get in the middle of the ongoing Cold War, but Walsh’s heat map this week compared to previous weeks, and his balance of play between defensive/offensive side of the fields, has changed.

Will be interesting going forward to see if his role has changed or just a result of this week’s game/opponent circumstances. But I liked what I saw yesterday.

Eagles pressure was terrible but I thought there were some good signs regardless.

Curnow and Walsh seemed to be moving well.

We need to keep Walsh away from the crash and bash and let him play that free running game.

Apologies to White. In the game thread he missed a goal early and I had a brain fart thinking he was Evans.

White actually did some nice things towards the end of the game.

Thought Carroll had some good moments also.

Loved seeing little Durds back. Kid is a player. Just need to keep him on the park.

Saad and Hewett are professionals and played nice games.

Really hope Kemp hasn't done a full rupture. Crossing my fingers

Give it a rest. McGovern was excellent today 23 touches and 668 metres gained. Made a couple of tough plays with a great spoil going back and a tough tackle when Waterman took him on.

The question is why don't we see this on a more regular basis. I understand that people get frustrated with him (as do I) but credit where credit is due today.

Excellent question and an excellent discussion point.

Just watching the replay and if we could kick, we would be a lock for the finals possibly top 4.

Some very good points

Except it’s West Coast

And 30 years ago I thought the same thing “if only I could kick” I would be an AFL draftee, but if I got it 30 times it didn’t help my cause when the kick went to the opposition 20 times

He’s a positive but also infuriating.

He’s always providing effort and options but a few too many errors.

And my god has anyone in the history of football been caught with ball as often as he is? And it’s not there’s someone directly on his hammer he’s usually taken 3-10 paces already.

Go through his career stats and you will see he only plays well against bad teams. When the pressure is he very rarely plays well. He is who he is, it’s highly unlikely things will get better from here.

Might need to get those flowing locks trimmed to improve vision & awareness perhaps……
Very frustrating player at times!

I'm sure you're right

Didn't notice them as much as yesterday

Needs a spell at VFL level. Should've been dropped on numerous occasions last year and wasn't.

A few of the senior players also fluffed a few and turned it over - Weiters over kicked a simple lead up pass under no pressure and completely missed the target, Cripps handballed over a team mates head resulting in a turnover.

Hollands needs to learn to give the ball off more quickly, as does Motlop. Will make a huge difference to their game.

I don’t mind Ollie, good team first player, but I can see the merit in dropping him occasionally and giving Binns a run. Maybe it helps both of them develop more. Binns must wonder what else can he do to get recalled to the senior team…
The MC seem to be a a group who has their favourites, that really shits me too
