After being 5 premos deep down back for most of the preseason, I've made a late call to swap to 4.

Prior, ZReid, Paton and Trainor seem like decent options to me. Paton is a concern though. I reckon the Swans are a decent chance to drop him for a taller player (Francis?) so they can free-up Lizard to get more ball. Leake and BAllan might be available as correction options. Then there's a few guys who will do well in the VFL and be close to getting a game soon, El-Hawli for example. O'Sullivan, O'Connell, Jepson, Buss and Bice are some other names who might play early-ish and be correction options.

Which call, 3 or 4 rookies in defence, will take the cake? Let's see how it all unfolds.
I’d say Paton and Wicks are competing for one spot when Cuningham is back and thats not considering the possibility of another tall being picked down back and both being out

I'm holding Sheldrick personally. People react too much to one game. Can easily side swap him to Lalor, Langford, Reid etc, should either come out of the blocks more strongly.
I guess we'll know more come team selection

iDon jdstorm Duckworthy Test Tickle
Kako: are you selecting?
You tend to be objective with this sort of gear

I am selecting because he’s fun and has great job security. I’m also possibly selecting him as a mid due to other forward only options. A couple of spike games in a row and probably makes some good coin. Essendon seem to be giving their SFs more licence to roam and are trying to play faster.

Objectively it’s a toss up with Davidson/stone are two cheap forward options. If your going a mostly midprice forward line it Puts Kako in competition with Knevit, Lindsay and other cheaper mid rookies plus Kako has the bye.

As a SF Kako will be up and down in a way those others won’t. High ceiling low floor.

Starting to look like this for me

DEF = Prior, Paton, Reid, Trainor
MID = NOD, Tsatas, Knevitt, Kako, Hewett, L.Camporeale, Boxshall
RUCK = A.Reid (OR Boyd)
FWD = Davidson, Stone
Only two forward rookies? Who are the six on field?

Sadly, no. Unless I flog off Paton or Stone for cheaper options, but I'm not that keen on doing that.

Rookies I'm currently running with are:

DEF: Z Reid, B Paton, L Trainor
MID: FOS, NOD, Tsatas, Boxshall, Camporeale, [INSERT: Knevitt / Hastie here]
FWD: Kako, Davidson, Stone [INSERT: Berry / Hewett here]

So basically the same as everyone else 😂

This is handy, cheers. Have kept him and shifted him to the nids as well. Wanted Trainor, so Boxshall / Kako to were two options to cull
Nothing against Boxshall fwiw, but word seems to be that Kako's JS is very solid.

Aaron Francis
Aaron sustained a concussion injury in the VFL practice match against GWS Giants on Saturday. He will be managed per the AFL Concussion Guidelines.

I also have Prior Trainor Paton and Reid

What are people’s thoughts on Lalor now that he’s been selected?

Came here to ask the same question.

i think I’ll leave him round 1 - lots of players don’t come back to their best for a while after concussion but I’m also going to leave enough money for any of FOS/NOD/Tsatas/Lashcroft to go to Lalor if he dominates and one of them spuds it/gets subbed

Will play predominantly fwd, in a team that'll struggle to see much ball fwd .....just not worth the premium investment required

Now this might be me just feeling like going against the grain, but… Thoughts on Lalor?

Edit - don’t mind me I read up.

Who's Dolan?
Any good?
Small pressure forward with decent skills. Played well but struggled to run out the practice game against the Hawks. Don’t think he’ll be relevant, but worth keeping an eye on this week.

Def: Trainor, Paton, Leake
Mid: McIntosh ($248k counts as a rookie right?), FOS, NOD, L.Ashcroft*, Lalor, Hewett, Boxhall
R: Boyd
F: SPP, Davidson, Kako, Stone
Wow... someone with the guts to mention McIntosh.
Coach has confirmed his move from the wing to mid.
Racked up 30 possessions against Collingwood for a measly 78 points (78 game time)
10 clangers is the killer
if he can tidy this up that $248000 is going to seem cheap.
One to watch

Happy to avoid him and correct if needed. Young is a few weeks away. I reckon he's a sub risk.
Story is, Murphy trained with the FWD's ....with Walters & Bolton out .....JS seems risky
