I reckon Trainor is a decent chance, no Gibcus early, they might continue with Brown fwd too.

Imagine we'll get a good enough look at Lalor in preseason to see if he'll be worth it for SC.
Brown won't be playing forward, he was there because Lynch, LeFau, Bauer, Fawcett and Gray weren't available, Kosi was but he's ****ing useless.

Trainor is an interesting one, club doesn't really know where his best position is, he had impact playing forward, even had some stints in the midfield, but he has Blight, Miller, Broad, Young and Brown ahead of him as a 3rd tall defender, could add Banks there too. Although Gibcus, Blight and Miller could be classed as 2nd talls.

Lalor will get a crack but predominately forward, high half forward.

It'll be interesting in a few years to see how this group do, Richmond definitely didn't go for the safe picks.
Yeah, you're right. It's been fascinating listening/watching a couple of interviews that Blair Hartley has done, the most interesting was the one on the Tigers website (Talking Tigers) These kids have all been picked with character, desire, talent and competitiveness being the stand out traits that he was looking for, moreso though with picking the players who will form the basis of a premiership winning team. The recruiting team have looked to what these draftees could be in 5 years time, the club will provide the platform and it's now up to them to take advantage of what's been given to them.

Remember the name .....Saad El-Hawli

My ESS loving mate has been spuiking his name recently for 2025 .....what with Martin likely to play FWD

Essendon's fifth-ever mid-season selection enters the club off the back of stellar VFL form. The 23-year-old is a versatile, athletic halfback/wing and in eight matches at state-league level, El-Hawli has averaged 25.8 disposals and six marks per game, wowing onlookers with his explosive power and pin-point ball use.

It sucks Toce passed away. I really rated him and was keen to see what he was going to do at your club over the next couple of years.

I wonder how much impact he had on your draft hand. I did see the video where they told Laylor he was going to be taken at pick one and Toce identified him as the number one pick in March.
