When l watch any sports reports we always seem to be going hell for leather. I see the other clubs, jogging, playing soccer, some standing handball drills, chatting with the coach.

Is this just me ?
Not sure if serious Hojuman ……. Is this tongue in cheek?
Think you’ve described our exact training for the past 5 years plus in your “other clubs” description, short of scissors paper rock.

I won't believe it until Mick McGuane reports that our training standards are no longer the worst in the competition.

Testing just doesn't replicate game scenarios though. What scenario in-game has you running 20m+ in an exact straight line at full pelt, unless you're Lewis Jetta in the 2012 prelim? I reckon, ball in hand, McKercher wins. I reckon, chasing some other rapid bloke with the ball, McKercher also wins. Interested to know if others disagree

What about on a lead out of the goal square?

Geez Goady looks impressive. Has come on faster than expected.
At the end of last season a few went early on calling him a flop.

So our first game is a few weeks away and still no captain / leadership announcement? WTF is going on?

Isn't there still a mth before the Mel sim game? Not sure what the urgency is? Surely the focus is on the team and not sure not knowing the captain is going to prevent that?

Hand on heart. Any Melb.clubs l've seen they seem to going at 30%.
Well for me this is great news. We have looked like the Tootgarook 2’s at training for years. Has been something that has annoyed me about any “cross to North training” for a long time, our blokes going a half rat power.

Goad will be a genuine weapon at AFL level from 2026 onwards.

This year he should be given the keys to the ruck for the VFL side.

Teakle, CCJ etc when there should all be forward and the second ruck.
If required, do you think he could play soon as a forward/2nd ruck?

Being so quick off the mark and tall, he’d be very hard to stop/almost impossible if the ball was put out in front of him.
