With so many trades and best 18 I think I’m just going to lean into midprice madness on Non opening teams paired with Set + Forget Rucks as my captain options. But otherwise the plan is go deep and if any fail do an early upgrade/correction.

Might make an exception for a few opening round rookies as they will have a 1 round cash gen advantage.

Also forgot to say that Johnson was matched up against May in the drills and with the rumours of Petty playing back. This could give him a round one debut.

Also if petty does go back. Would Petty or Lever have the interceptor role?

In all seriousness though, I won’t be looking at starting any Blues bar TDK for next season.

Cerra is reportedly over his myriad of soft tissue problems and is feeling better than he has in over two years, but at his price is not a consideration for me personally. I honestly cant see how he adds 20-25ppg next year, and that’s what he’d need to average to either be an expensive stepping stone or keeper.

Even as an M8, you’d really want a 105ish player sitting there.

Ashcroft, Soligo and Warlord are all going to be a similar price (I think) and I’d probably go for one of them as a starting spec pick.

If Brisbane weren’t playing round 0 I’d most likely slot Ashcroft in at M5/M6 and not blink an eye, Soligo had a nice little 6 week run averaging 108.5, and Wardlaw was averaging a tick under a hunj for an eight week patch and will only get better you’d imagine. Kerch is another option under that $500k bracket if he’s monopolising kick ins and gulling his way to glory. Had a 10 round average of 106.5 to end the year, so there’s also that.

I'll grab Kerch if hes off halfback even if Daniel is there too. More then enough chips for both. Wont pick him if hes mid.

I might pick Ashcroft anyway. Reckon he goes 110+. Ashcroft, Cerra or Oliver for M5 in that order.

Kerch will be a Def only, pretty sure.

I am pretty keen on Ashcroft, and we get a free look in round 0 as well.

Piggy and Cerra would need to start pretty well for me to consider trading either of them in.

Been offline for a while. What is Flex?
I'm not sure how many on here play BBL Supercoach but this year they have made a change and it could work with AFL as well. They have brought in "Flex" which is an extra player. So normally in BBL you get 11 players on field but this year you can have a 12th player/flex and you get the Top 11 scores for the round.
I'm wondering if they are trialing this in BBL and maybe have a similar format in AFL Supercoach. I think it would work well in the AFL version as well so have a 23rd player in case there is an injury or just a poor game the lowest score could be dropped for the Flex player. Emergencies can still be used and the Flex player can also be used as VC/C

I mean where Kerch plays, not where he's listed in supercoach. North supporters saying he will be more mid this year. Though everyone is getting more mid time at this time of year lol.

Be interesting to see where FOS plays as well. Based on their list it makes sense to have Daniel/Fisher as your main HB movers with your high end versatile types playing more Mid/HHF (Sheezel/Kertch/FOS)

Going to be a close watch for sure if these guys start getting DPP

This Flex position sounds like shit, SC is getting easier and easier.

There are so many best 18 rounds this year surely it's redundant anyway?

So what are you buying with the $50k:moustache:

Probably not many SC worthy players. Hewett, Coleman, NOD & Mills probably the best.
Reid and Gibcus should be decent bench rookies, if they can actually stay on the park this season.

Last I read Gibcus was a doubt for round 1, which is better for SC imo as we can bring him in IF he can make it to a bubble game.

Wouldn't start Reid unless rookie defenders are slim because of the high injury risk.

Gibcus only when he's past his first 2 games and looks good to go.
