Turns out Rush's contract was being misrepresented. There are a lot on performance based triggers in the deal that were being presented as total value.

You're right though. Back up QBs being well paid is par for the course. Best job in the league.

I think I read the other day Kirk Cousins has earned more that Tom Brady already.

thats a lot of money tied up in a QB and 2 WRs. i guess they will have to score 50 a week to win enough to make playoffs and then have to score 70 a week to win a playoff game

Last year on his deal. asking price for a trade seems more then teams are willing to pay.

knowing Cinci they will make him play out the year and then tag him.

If they somehow extended him. They would still miss playoffs and at least 2 of the 4 will be traded or cut in 3 years.

Also if they get a deal done soon it will push the price up for Parsons in Dallas again. Even if Trey only gets low 30s Parsons will be after 40ish

Yeah basically that and so Texans owners don’t get bitched at by other owners for giving a fully guaranteed contract. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

Panthers signing Horn before Stingley got his turned out to be smart, 28m less in guaranteed money on a 4 year deal for a fellow injury prone corner before last season.
