I get money talks but gotta ask yourself about the arrogance of the bloke to think things will be all ok in just 2 more years.
I mean from all the reports warner is supposedly the big star who rang Simpson wanting to play for Harley.
Really am now hoping he goes there , Reid signs the 3 year deal , so tha muppets blow 4 million a year on 2 players whilst the majority of the rest of the squad are WAFL standard, thus winning enough games for no man’s land placings but never ever getting close to finals

Ideas to improve our depth. Should not need to give up a first rounder for any of these players. I think currently we have 26 to 28 AFL ready players, and we are already seeing when we get 4 or 5 injuries, we struggle.

Callum ah chee is a free agent for life. Out of contract. Gf likes it up there , but may be gettable.
Judd McVee is expected to remain at Melbourne, but surely a good offer would tempt him. They are horrible. Exactly what we need off the half back line.

Ed Allan - playing well in the VFL. Type of player we need more of.
Darcy Jones - exactly what we need.
If we can get 2 of these 4, take two first round picks, plus hopefully get one mature agers then we should have solved our depth issue.

After finding Reid and Dudley I can’t get onboard giving up multiple R1’s for Kozzie, doesn’t seem like a need anymore.
Our wing combinations would rate as some of the worst in the league and our midfield is already too small to bring in Kozzie as part of it.
Dan Curtin is who I want or the draft but that seems unlikely these days.

He'll be as expensive as any of these names by the time he's available
especially as GWS/kingsly love him.
Annoying as **** as I was big on him in his draft year .
But Even more annoying tho as gws have legit like 6 high end talent small fwds but can see them prioritising Darcy above them all - only to then due to this , watch as the left over ones aka all the vic ones eg gothard/hannerford get squeezed out , ending back in vic at some big club and going on to star and all for like a token 3rd rounder

I've changed my mind on very quickly saying to prioritise the draft for a year. Melbourne are going to have a Brisbane "go home 4" exodus as that place completely blows up. We can get Kozzie for a reasonable price

I still think Pickett is the priority, if he's available and wants to come over, you do what you have to do to sign him, he's a good player.
Reid, Bolton and Dudley playing well may change that, it I still think you bring him in if you can.

He's a down hill skier. Would be a great player to have if we are confident our midfield is top 4 and he can capitalise off our dominance. Imagine Young, Darcy and Serong feeding the ball to him. Pickett is different because he is not as damaging but is not dependent on our midfield winning the ball. I think Pickett is the safe bet because the extra million you save can go to Serong and Reid.

If Pickett comes in and Dudley becomes a depth player who plays anywhere from 5-10 games a year provided we have a full strength squad I'd take that as a return on investment.
Nah Pickett is a must.
Walters is winding down.
Pickett is an immediate upgrade on Switkowski, and he ll be pushed out.
Pickett can play midfield with Bolton as well, so it’s unpredictable.

Reid will be a full time mid in a couple of years, definitely room for Bolton, Dudley and Pickett in the forward line. More so if Switta does want to return to vic.
Ah Chee is a great suggestion.
The indigenous all star game made me think we need players with creativity.
Dean Rioli was successful moving forward to back. Dale Kickett many moons ago transformed his career doing the same.
Last year Tigers dominated the draft, this year it appears WC will do the same.
Add Dees to the mix because they are done.
This will shape the draft so I imagine Kozzie might just fall into our lap without
too much interest.
WC look likely to lose Allen and Reid?
If Curtin keeps showing so much promise, yeah he’s probably going top 5.
But like last year a gem or two can fall through the cracks and we can strike.
Small forwards are looking like a strength now with Hart also in our NGA.
Bo Allen at the Pies should also be in our sights as another winger.
The only real concern for me is due to injuries to our talls, we lose Darcy, Pearce
or Treacy and we falter.
It’s why Curtin is so valuable, can genuinely play anywhere in the spine.
A player that is 200cm and 100kg that can take contested marks and move look a
small are always gold.
Yes we have Jackson who is athletically gifted, but he’s not going to smash the scoreboard regularly like Curtin.

We still need Kozzie. The more highly skilled players we have the better. Whether they play as defenders, midfielders or forwards, it is the abilty to pinpoint a kick that breaks a game apart. For example, imagine Kozzie in the Worner/Banfield role. No more cat10s. Now we have catwows.

As a free agent it is a no brainer. Get quality, with out giving up picks. We just need to find a way to add 2 or 3 more AFL quality players, so we can cope with injuries.
