I’m happy with our all pick ups as IMO they address needs, provided we round things out by getting another key position player by taking one of McMahon or DGB as an SSP.
However it still feels like we lack genuine small forwards who can impact the scoreboard unless Motlop makes a massive step forward in 2025.

Can't solve all the list problems in one off season...
Lachie Fogarty, Corey Durdin and Jesse Motlop need to have a big 2025... they were all selected relatively early in their respective drafts (all 2nd round picks), so they were seen as talented small forwards... time to step up.
His combine sprint time would have put him comfortably in the top ten this year.I know I'm a broken record, but signing McMahon is a no brainer imo.
He's still only 22yo, so now approaching the age where key forwards start to mature. Proven goal kicker (2nd overall in the VFL) and won our B&F....not sure what more he needs to do to earn a spot.
Anyway, I digress. If H or Charles go down for an extended period during the season, we're in all sorts. You can start plugging holes or trying to manufacture a makeshift forward half week after week. Or throw TDK up there at the expense of our ruck, and bring Pitto in as our 1st ruck. Or throw JSOS or Kemp there as a key marking option week after week, and pray for the best.
Of course we've got Lemmey - but at the end of last year when we our arses were hanging out the seat of our pants with a huge injury toll, no key forwards, and only 27 odd players to choose from, big Lem was still kcking the dew off the grass in the VFL....which just demonstrates the MC don't have the confidence right now to give him a crack at senior level. That may change over summer, but if it doesn't, we're back to bare bones.
For mine, we desperately need another forward who can take a big grab and kick goals. Who knows, McMahon may become our Logan Morris as that 3rd tall mobile marking forward.
Out of our other train ons, I'm not convinced in the slightest with DGB, Carroll now appears to be surplus especially after today, and big Nigel can't be trusted to get onto the park. I'd be taking McMahon and leave the other spot for the mid season draft....unless the next Eddie Betts/Jeff Garlett small forward happens to fall on our laps.
McMahon was delisted because Collingwood were in a position to win the premiership and McRae wanted experienced players and was delisted because of FramptonI know I'm a broken record, but signing McMahon is a no brainer imo.

I think we'd be too tall(not enough mobility and pressure) if we went with Harry, Charlie, TDK and Liam in the one side.I know next to nothing about McMahon. So out of interest, if neither Harry or Charlie are injured, is there a spot for him in our team? Or is he purely a break glass in emergency type of player?
Wouldn't it depend a bit on form and 'the next man up'? I can at least see him starting on the bench and it might be good for rotations. I think too much pressure and focus are placed on our current two key forwards and it would be good to see how they respond to having more options around them.I think we'd be too tall(not enough mobility and pressure) if we went with Harry, Charlie, TDK and Liam in the one side.
He'd need to be the 3rd tall lead up type due to his slim build. The question would be "are Kemp, Moir and JSOS and HOK better options.'
I'm all in on selecting though.
should have kept Martin imo.Sounds like your banking on McInness like me to be one of our key recruits for Season 2025 - needs to fix C Durdin, Fogarty, Silvagni and Cottrell and get Williams, Moir and Motlop fit
He's miles ahead of Lemmey as a tall forward right now.We should be taking McMahon over other options. Perfect back up for Harry and Charlie.
Wait, how can you know a posters previous usernames?Sigh, I did.
Half read at work.

If we had have landed Hayward or Stengle as free agents this off season would have been an all timer.
Our last major hole on the list, our current crop are simply putrid ATM.
All I hope is Austin and co have some names lined up for next year to fill that void if the form issues persist amongst our lot. We’re definitely putting a lot of faith in a substantially improved output from Motlop, Durdin, Moir and Fantasia (maybe he’ll be like Daisy Thomas and actually get better with a bit more confidence in his body?). The good thing is, they could hardly contribute less than they did this year so the only way is up.
If we had kept picks 12 and 14, I would’ve been happy to trade Motlop and Durdin instead of Kennedy and Carroll, leaving us in a position to draft Berry and Hannaford.
I suspect our performance would’ve improved more next year with this approach but getting Jagga will benefit us more for the next 15 years so I’m not complaining.

Lemmey needs to find aggression really quickly or he's going to find himself off the list (imo). He's got the tools.I think if the club decides to commit to Lemmey being a forward, then we need a defender which makes DGB the likely signing (assuming he impresses at training and remains injury free).
If they believe Lemmey might be more viable as a defender then that opens up a spot for McMahon.
