No mention if they will play AFL this week or WAFL.

The quote from Phil was "... available this weekend"

He’s been playing through a leg complaint all season. Had ice on it end of the game. Sort of thing that is managed through injections. He spoke about it on radio last week I think.
Really?
That could make sense to jab him up and keep him out there if he'd be playing well, but he has been pretty poor.

This was after the Sydney game. I’d imagine it still isn’t 100%

“I had troubles with my shin all week. Just training in general was a bit of a struggle for me,” Sharp said.

“I think it was the first five minutes of the game (where) I got a real solid corky, which made my job a little bit harder – especially playing on the wing, where you need to be hitting high speeds. I suppose I struggled to do that across the match.

“But I’ve had a good couple of days on it now. I had a cortisone (injection) on it on Monday, so it’s feeling a bit fresh now.”

Walters getting the Bennell treatment. Hadn't budged from 2-3 weeks yet again.

I guess it's just that they see him as being practically the only real option to play that fat side wing role. And when fully fit, he runs the rest of the team off the park by that much that it usually makes up for his iffy disposal. But last 2 weeks, he's not been top 5 afield in sprints, repeat sprints, or distance at high speed. This happened once last season (vs St Kilda), and he's almost always top 5 in at least 2/3 of those.

Something else to keep an eye on re Sharp - considering the main criticism is his kicking, he's not kicking it this season. Become unusually handpass heavy. Used to kick with over 2/3 of his disposals, now with only 1/2 of his disposals. Metres gained per disposal also well down. Not sure if that's injuries, coaching, opposition knowing he's corral-able coz he's one-footed, or some mix of those 3.

Even Brayshaw used to look well off his best whenever he had leg problems. And while running is a huge part of his game, Brayshaw's game is far less reliant on running than Sharp's. Pretty much all he does.

Walters I'm fine with the club taking their time with, guys like he and Fyfe should be taken with extreme precaution until they're both 100%.

I dont see how either are best 22 to be honest, sub maybe. Using Snuff's save Freo plan which really shoehorns in a few players as it is. Who would you drop for either as it stands

Ryan Pearce Wagner
Clark Draper Young (goes through middle A LOT)
Noddy Serong Sharp
Bolton Treacy Reid
Switta Amiss Cox

Darcy Jackson Brayshaw

JOM Johnson Freddy Chapman

Which player are you leaving out for either?

If Fyfe can play the wrestling game like he did against Heeney in Sydney last year that O'Meara played this year - you could argue that O'Meara is filling the hole for Fyfe now.

I think Freddy brings more marking and speed than Walters, and I wouldn't be interested in swapping Frederick for Walters at all if it hadn't been for how well Walters and Bolton worked together, feeding off each other.

But that's where the options are to me.

Cox, cant outmark his opponent one on one

"Young will definitely play some footy this weekend"

"Work out where after main training, has had a pretty interrupted pre season

Sean Darcy in the same boat"

Just judging off JL, it seems like Young might play AFL but Darcy is WAFL

Sharp will be fine this week, just took the opportunity to sub a like for like on and give him less game time
