Arrrrrr knew it was too good to be true when I thought we got through the game without any injuries. Schultz is a big blow, just when he started to get going as well :(

Gonna need our other smalls too step up

Fingers crossed Shultz will be okay for Anzac day but most Hammy's are 3 weeks, unless its very minor!

NEW UPDATES:

Jordan De Goey

Jordan De Goey will be ruled out of Collingwood’s Round Five match against the Sydney Swans on Friday night as he recovers from right ankle and Achillies inflammation.

The midfielder was subbed off in the final term of the side’s Round Four match against Carlton after experiencing soreness.

De Goey will be assessed leading into the side’s Round Six match against Brisbane.

Lachie Schultz

Lachie Schultz will be sidelined for Friday night’s game after scans revealed the forward sustained a minor hamstring strain during the side’s training session on Sunday afternoon.

Schultz is expected to spend two to three weeks on the sidelines.

OTHER UPDATES:

Tom Mitchell

Tom Mitchell has commenced running and will continue to build on this over the next few weeks.

Mitchell is no longer experiencing plantar fasciitis symptoms and continues to progress re-loading his ankle.

Harvey Harrison

Harvey Harrison is progressing well in his return from an ACL injury. The forward commenced a running program this week and is expected to return to some light skill work within the next month.

Reef McInnes

Following a successful surgery 10 days ago, Reef McInnes is progressing well as he recovers from an ACL injury.

McInnes will commence a gym-based program to build on his strength over the next four to six weeks.

Ash Johnson

Ash Johnson continues to progress well following successful surgery to his left fibula.

Johnson will remain in a moonboot for the next two to three weeks and will commence a re-load period. The Club expects Johnson to return to play within the next six to eight weeks.

What are our thoughts on Schultz only missing two games? He's exactly the type of player who the Dons struggle against.

Far out,I wasn’t expecting any injuries to cone out of the Carlton game, and now all of a sudden we have two, including Degoey who is becoming very injury prone unfortunately

I wonder who comes in for them, and Houston as well?Hoskin Elliott and Allan are the obvious first choices, but who else comes in?

Sullivan was best on Saturday - everyone other than WHE & Allan played a full game, so whoever the third is might be sub.

What’s his previous history been like? Back in 3 after a hammy, even a twinge, would be hard to imagine.
He’s played 110 of 116 since establishing himself in late 2019 and one of those was his suspension last year.

Out: JDG, Schultz, Houston
In: WHE, Allan, Sullivan

Long to play a full game. Sullivan the sub unless another senior player needs it.

Move the magnets around, probably Perryman to the backline again even though he has been great in the midfield.

Just like McStay - barely missed from injury until he joined Collingwood!
That 110 of 116 includes 24 of 26 at Collingwood.

What we have to understand as a collective is that our injury profile across the first month was strong and it should come as no surprise if we pick them up here and there. A comparison with Sydney would have us man for man missing 4 compared to approximately 8 of their best mix.

The compounding factor is that we’ve copped them out of a contest that had the all clear initially and on top of Houston’s suspension.
