Cool, so my mids:

Anderson-Oliver-Cripps-Cerra-Callaghan-Peatling are all PODs apart from Cerra.

Yes, I know it's a poxy line and probably the reason why I'm ranked where I am.
IMO these lists are more relevant during & after the byes ....the current top 1,000 may not still be in those positions .....as the season progresses new breakouts will raise their heads

So everyone above has TDK. Does that make him a must trade to try and catch up? Or a hold because we're safe no matter what he scores.

Could look at it both ways I guess.
I'm looking to trade TDK in R8 after the GEEL game .....Xerri with his tackling is a must

I've looked after my best 22 this week ...but I have to rebuild the health of my bench next week

I think people put too much stock into being unique with their players. I know it sounds overly simplistic but just pick the player who you think averages more.

The only time it should come into calculation are the last handful of rounds where you need a hail mary to separate yourself from the pack. Right now, there are still 18 rounds; just pick who you think averages the most regardless of ownership.

Give me your thoughts people:

Lachie Ash - putting together a great season, Dogs traditionally a good match up for half backs but seemingly no longer (Orange on Scale of Hardness), followed by a middling run across the next few games, is he Top 6 material - scoring like it currently but not sure if I trust it.

Jake Bowey - dream next two match ups, so could be a sugar hit I need to move me back up the ranks. Surely he can't keep this up though, won't be Top 6, but does that matter?

Izak Rankine - keeps getting it done, was worried he might get pushed out of Top 6 calculations with the inclusions, but he's putting the likes of Chad Warner to shame and maintaining his slot there currently. Fixture is up and down across the next month. Plus, a lot of the top 1000 have him so I'd be chasing their tail a bit with this move.

Anyone else under 930ish thousand, in any line other than Ruck? Preferably defender or forward though.

I don't see why Ash would drop off. He's been relentless demanding the ball this year. Full pig mode when I watch GWS. And they will keep chipping the ball around if it's working. I think 6 weeks of data is enough to suggest it's real.

Rankine I want too but going Ash for now as he has the lower BE. Going to reassess Rankine next week. Wouldn't touch Bowey.

Looking like 1 of these at this stage.. but not sure which
(boxshall a place holder until teams are announced)

Thank you for your thoughts. I'm tossing up between JHF and Ash, leaning JHF at the moment due to the lower price, strong role with Rozee at half back and also the fact that despite Reid's latest disaster, I'm still more comfortable with him on field than one of Cleary, Stone or Co. Warner.

Mine have ended up being uniques because they were in my starting team and I've tried to sort other issues and a bit of upgrading around them rather than trying to get them to the ubers just yet

I went SDK > Stewart last week but pivoted once Trainor was named as sub, didn't help much as SDK shat the bed as well.

Now find myself a week behind and having to deal with SDK and Marshall, no upgrades, just sideways and not liking it,

SDK > Stewart, had a poor score last week, but at D5 he's worth a shot.
Marshall > Gawn, don't know what's going on with Roma, but there's certainly an issue, Max's run can't be ignored either.

Rookies get another week to keep fattening.

Can someone talk me out of going TDK to Flynn and Trainor or Reid to Ned Long? will have $350k for the following week.

Looks pretty good for at least a 70 average if playing solo ruck (which he almost certainly will). Given how TDK is scoring its not losing that much in points to make 300k

Injuries and being dropped is the risk, but now with Goldstein playing there's a parachute plan too

Was going to go
Washcroft, Powell
Ash, Petracca
BUT WAS SHORT BY 9k
Then I was going to go
Washcroft, Boak
Naicos and fletcher
But was short cash again
SO now it is
Washcroft,Powell
Naicos, Fletcher
Mate please get rid of Boak so we never have to hear you talk about him again. Let his fantasy memory live in peace.

Looking like Trac is the best i can get to, doesn't feel great getting rid of two of my better rookies in Trainor and Hall and still only getting to a Trac.

Hall is no longer a good rookie, made his money. Trainor is fine to get off.
Trac is a massive upgrade.

Goldy is tempting purely because there’s only untried rookies to take his spot

If the rookie chances (Tunstill etc) aren’t available this week we may have to get creative

I’ve settled on this for the time being. I can go Trainor instead of Garcia to Boxshall/Tunstill but do not have enough wiggle room to get to Carroll if everyone is named sub. Also do not trust Tunstill JS.

This option then makes Lindsay on field and I can loop between Reid and Trainor for D6.

115 itb means I won’t have much money for an upgrade next week, someone priced around 800k or lower (I don’t mind Long but think I’ll be one week too late) or Stewart could be an option. Team going into round 7 for the moment with these trades:

Other option is to keep Garcia for another week and upgrade Moraes to Long but I’m nervous about it (will make me more cash)

I’ve changed my trade out from Trainor to Garcia to allow my trade in to be Carroll if Boxshall/Busslinger isn’t named (or is named sub)
I just don’t feel confident with Tunstill; also had low TOG. We were all nervous about Lashcroft getting games in the 22 - injuries have helped.
I don’t think he lasts with injuries coming back
I don’t plan on keeping him long term, just using him to get Whitfield and keeping some cash gen flowing on the bench for the next few weeks so I can start to look to upgrade a mid in the next week or so

If he’s named in the side this week I reckon I’ll keep him.

So Briggs......

Had a shocker on the weekend, in what will be top 3 worst games of the season. A one-off anomaly?

Before that he was looking like a trade target to average 100 and make some good coin.

Now looking at his last 2 seasons he's averaged 91 and 94, and now it's his fifth year in the system at 25 and a half years of age, you could say he's primed for a breakout. Not that he has to change anything drastically to average 95-100 from here.

According to Cal's scale he's got insanely good matchups coming up too.

Now with all this being said, I don't know if me or anyone could pull the trigger after this last weekend. But just last week he was a trade target for many, and if he had done well on the weekend I'm sure many others would be trading him in.

TDK>Briggs would net $200k off the bat and you'd likely see him rise 100-200k and average 90-100 until traded down the line. If you write off that last game he's looking quite tempting, especially with other rookie cash gen moving at the pace grass grows.

Is anyone with me or do I sound insane?

Not insane. He could be a solid option to get you to round 13 when you can get Xerri/English in.

The sample above shows Geelongs good run - SDK back - nah.
GWS great run up to and include R12 prime for switch with extra trades.
Roll into Xerri but his improved run has begun.
Essendon not as red now you’d think
English the other R12 option with a good run that ends R17
