2019. This is the immaturity of the AFL as an industry on full display, where the $ has a greater impact on the fixture than equity.

Yeah it crazy, we always seem to play Gold Coast away and Brisbane at home with a couple of those GC games now in Darwin. We do have a decent supporter base in Queensland but they never get to see us play

Even during Covid with nearly everyone in Queensland we only played 1 game at Carrara and none at the Gabba

back in the day.. the glorious 90s the double ups started at round 16! so whoever you played in Round 1 you played in Round 16 etc etc.. now you can play a team in round 1 and not play them until the next year OR play a team in Round 15 and play them again in round 23. its a joke.

They need to increase the gap for repeat matches to at least twelve rounds (but ideally cycle through all and then start again like it used to). Teams running into the same opposition twice in five weeks exacerbates the impact that a significant injury run could have on two sides in similar parts of the ladder.
