Seeing wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many North players in teams. campaigners are asking for trouble.

Myself included.

Heading to New Zealand for a couple of weeks next week, so this will probably be roughly what my team looks until after opening round.

Steele, Wardlaw and Adams are the players I feel are most likely to miss out from this line-up. Probably via downgrading Wardlaw and upgrading Adams to Flanders and Steele to someone like Merrett or Libba. I'm keen on the Warlord but I reckon you're playing with fire having 2 second-year players from the same team... hard to see the SC gods having a bar of that.

Feel like I'm getting close to what my starting side will look like though.

Starting both Coleman and Williams is asking for trouble.

This is i think my 1316th ish version, welcome comments and criticism

Something to keep in mind you have 6 round 0 players.
I'd also downgrade Martin or Crouch and get another back Sheez/ Sicily or Young
Agreed. IMO it's not really worth ****ing with players in that $400-500k range in the mids this year (though Guthrie is very tempting) because a) they won't make as much money as the rookies, b) they absolutely won't be keepers, and most importantly c) there's already a few probable top 10 mids being left out because of opening round. You have to be looking at the quick cash to get some of those opening round premiums (Petracca, Gulden, Dunkley, Neale) in after their byes IMO.

I also think you want to be spending more money on your defenders than forwards because it's much more clear who the top 10 defenders will be than the top 10 forwards.

Kiddy's injury troubles are a little overstated IMO. Only missed 3 games last year and 2 were due to a freak facial injury. I think the upside is big enough to warrant picking him. Genuinely think he'll be an All Australian defender this year. But I'd rather he remains a POD, so yes everyone stay away, will be lucky to make it through the first month.

Zilliams is whatever at his price. If he gets injured it's an easy swap for a defensive rookie. I'm more inclined to take those risks this year where the upside is so big because of the extra trades. Plus everyone has him anyway.

Adams is the major risk in my team I reckon. He's at an awkward price if he gets injured early in the season.

Flanders a good chance at F1 this year. Might not get him any cheaper.

You lucky kentie, what a time you will have!
Looking forward to it! Only been to Queenstown in the past, so keen to explore much more of the south island. Already looking at going back in the next year or so, because I had to pick between Franz Josef and Hokitika and Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo. Also don't have time to do a Doubtful Sound cruise, which is definitely a bucket list item for me. Keen to check out Milford Sound again, was sick as a dog last time I went and didn't get to enjoy it as much as I should have. The more research I do, it really does look like one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Yeah I'll likely end up with him over Adams. Just got to figure out how I make that happen.

Nice, bottom half of the SI is some of the best scenery in the world.

And all the worse bye … R12
Good point. Easy to get blinded by opening round and forget about the other byes.

That being said, might be able to upgrade Wardlaw, Lazzaro and McKercher before then.

Exactly.

McKercher will go $500,000+.

Coleman always looks as though he could do a hammy at any given time.

Cramp. Happens almost every game with Kiddy. Keeps supporters on their toes.

But there are better options at their prices.
In Powell's case, you still have to field six players in the forward line.

Aside from Harmes, who else is arguably a better option at that price point?

Fyfe, who is certain to be on heavily managed time?

Billings and Jordon, who are very unlikely to get as much ball as Powell given their roles?

I was a sceptic, but Powelly does look like a whole new player this year after a proper PS.

At the very least, in terms of role, price, JS and forward eligibility, he's a pretty compelling SC option.
