Big year for the team this year , just the continue development of the young players to take another step up in Owens , Windhager , Milera , Phillipou , Camaniti and by the way Goddards talking about Byrne he could be more than a surprise.
The likes of King will need to have a big year also to keep us moving up the ladder.

It's pretty clear there are two attributes we are building from.

  • Leg speed/Agility: Spread from tight spaces and ability to burn opponents on the rebound.
  • Disposal skills: Ability to hit a target who has worked hard (with leg speed/agility) to make space. It's not been spoken about but I'd assume this includes handball skills to 'run and spread'.

I'm not seeing much emphasis on contested footy in our recruitment or training. Which is a worry. We have some contested footy beasts in the squad and will be relying on them to get first clean hands on the footy.
Don’t worry, match sim will be a focus post Christmas..plenty of competitive stuff then!

Makes perfect sense.

I thought they might go Caminiti yet if Keeler is the one they want to train up as a key defender i am perfectly happy with that outcome.

Extremely athletic, 198cm key defender that has football nous and can replace Howard.

I like it so much so, the thought has me salivating.
Keep your powder dry re: Keeler as a defender, no evidence thus far…we’ll know more after Christmas when they’re split up into their positional groups.

Your source is your source, but I find this one very difficult to believe.

If it’s true, I find it very difficult to understand.
I think it makes a lot of sense, he's got great natural ability
Keeler as a key defender would be an interesting move. Can't think of many indig players who have played as a key defender.

The only one I can think of is Darryl White but he was a bit of a freak and could play anywhere.

I remember him kicking a goal from the right forward pocket out near the 50 metre line.

Clearly couldn't kick the distance with drop punt, so he did this perfect torp that curved into the field of play then swung back the other way through the goals.

Great player.

Not a lot more to report on that Joffa, kick it lace out or a few others have already reported on....great detailed posts there everyone.

The air temp was rising rapidly down there this morning,

As an earlier poster commented on.....big Maxy is looking a million bucks.

I personally think if he can get thru a whole season uninjured......I strongly suspect that he could rip the comp apart.....it will happen sooner or later.

As KILO mentioned....Henry was lace out with his kicking today.....he certainly grabbed my attention....very very impressive.

I noticed that Keeler had the small strap above his left knee on again for the first time this pre season........hopefully all is well there.

And a special shout out to Darcy Wilson.....at the end of the sprints/running session....he pulled up 20 feet from us and we heard you Darcy....he barked out something that sounded like "Duck Me" ......lol.

And lastly....is there anything RTB can't do !!!!!!!!!

He was lying on the ground about 30 feet from the fence.....limbering up and stretching(obvioulsy giving his new hip a good workout)...a group of players ran past him in front of the fence....he barked out something to them....and the speed picked up.

I thought has this guy got eyes in the back of his head.

Very impressive RTB.
Maybe RTB yelled out "Duck Me" due to his hip, but the players thought it was aimed at them. ;)

Been in the system a few years now,so imo now is the time,if he hasnt built a decent tank by now, maybe never will
is he trying will he be like the last lot, tim elliot, and the next one aftr him, who we kept on for many many years in the hope.

Watched Hunter today, i was amazed at the fact his hair looks like straw, and also amazed at the the amount of scalp showing at his crown.
Time for a number 4 Hunter, the current "do" is now shite.
Time to bring this look back 🥴

I was at trainng Friday 08/12 and what interested me most was the training drill at the DF Centre end of the ground, Lenny ran it and BJ stood there and watched, made me wonder if Lenny was tutoring his replacement ?
you would expect so, as they have swapped positions. development coach to midfield coach.
