Ah i see, fair point. That is why i really like the position tampa are in. Baker is not going to be an mvp level player, but he is good enough to keep your organisation competitive until you draft and develop your qb of the future.
I think highly of UDFA Michael Pratt, do you think any chance he might be that development QB for Tampa?

He didnt have a great summer. the Packers back up job was his to win and he couldnt do it, thats why we traded for Willis.
I think we wanted to get him on the PS but he didnt want to stay.

I will be honest i have not watched enough of him to make an honest assessment. Having said that, he would have to start beating mayfield in practise to be remotely seen as someone worth persisting with.

He was good at Tulane. i was a bit surprised he went undrafted. but he really didnt get any better over the summer and struggled with NFL timing.

If its a choice between getting a QB in 2025 or 2026 I am waiting to 2026.

This class is pretty weak. Lets compare it to last years strong qb class where would you take the top 2 qbs from 2025 in 2024. You are taking Caleb, Jayden, Maye and Pennix before you even think about Sanders and not sure Sanders or Ward (my fav qb from this class) get taken before JJ or Bo.

Thus I am waiting for 2026 for chance Manning or another qb jump up to top tier QB prospect than mid tier that Sanders is.

All this starts with the question what the Raiders / Brady would do. Surely Brady realizes a bridge vet is the way to go like Purdy, Darnold and such and that QB could start again 2026 no problem if Manning doesnt declare till 2027. And he'd like Manning for sure as top option.

Deion Sanders will interfere probably to get his son to a "marquee" org like Dallas or whatever. Would also be interesting where Dak ends up, could even be Raiders. Not sure how his new contract works or doesnt work for a trade.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the scouts eventually give sanders a mid to late first round grade, but it will be the owners who will be pushing for him to be drafted a lot higher than he should.

Pittsburgh actually have to pay Wilson after the Broncos have been doing a great job eating his salary. They also have a ceiling that they dont want to pay anyone more than TJ Watt (30m per year). Russ has been good and playing at level with his qb peers so should be expecting something in the $40m p/y range. So challenging one there for the team.

Likewise for the Vikings, if Darnold leads them to a playoff win or two it makes for an interesting decision for him and the team. I doubt he'll be keen to hang around as a backup or on high end backup money - he's shown he can win in the right system, but would want more security and cash.

You would be crazy to sign Aaron rodgers been a massive failure with jets he only got to choose his own offensive coordinator his friends to pass too and even with all that Zach Wilson ended up the better QB for the jets.
