AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Ooooh, careful...Haven't seen any love for my man Josh Murphy this week. If we draft him I'm claiming him. Might even start the welcome thread.
The window opens as soon as Mackie enters the room.Does the trade window open just before the draft or earlier ?
Mackie smells worse than a shit that’s had a shit. The window opens as soon as Mackie enters the room.
Dustin Fletcher and the Watsons ?Can't wait for naicos to run alongside pendle's son in 12 years time.
Wonder if that will make naicos the first player to play alongside both a father his son .
Just looking at Cal's late mail phantom... In both editions he had St Kilda taking a player, then bidding, then taking another player. Why wouldn't they do their bids on their first pick and make these teams pay the maximum?
Dustin Fletcher and the Watsons ?
GC and Essendon will have enough points to match at that point and an earlier bid won't move the Saints 4th pick any higher.Agree. They've got picks 7 & 8 so it wouldn’t make any difference to them to suck a few extra points out of an opponent. They’ll get who they want anyway and if they’re bidding on anyone with those picks it’ll be someone they’d be prepared to list anyway.

All it will do is shift around the picks at the end of the draft a little bit and slightly adjust which teams get the late blokes who go on to succeed.
It doesn't take any value out of the back end of the draft when a team has to pay an extra late pick to match. The same players are still available and the other picks - not owned by the Saints - become slightly more valuable
There's no tactical reason for the Saints to do it.
