Exactly, the numpties who can't ready themselves. Seen plenty of people over the years with their plastic cards not in hand or around their necks. This isn't a new problem, but I agree it can be worse with added complexity for some.
 
Ok, so I must be a numpty too, but where on earth can I actually log in and see my own or my kids' current membership status on either the membership website or the Geelong app? I literally cannot find that most critical information anywhere at either location. I feel like I'm missing something obvious...

Don't feel bad. When I logged into my membership details it didn't actually tell me what membership I had.

Right, this is what I'm trying to address. I can't even see (a) what membership I have or (b) any details of the other members linked (I hope) to my login, i.e., my kids. Surely that's the most basic requirement for a membership website/app?

No, not in this case. As it WAS good a couple seasons back where a parent or guardian could login as themselves and their children's profiles would load alongside theirs. Then about a year or so ago they changed it...where this is now gone.

When I asked the club it was "they" which I took to mean the AFL or Ticketmaster, or a mix of both. AFL just can't get it right.

Your best, sure bet is to call the club unfortunately, at least until the kids get old enough to get their own logins OR the AFL fixes it...again
 
Really should be able to opt out of auto renewing when you sign up, having to ring the club just to opt out of that is a pain in the arse.

Sign into your ticketmaster account and look at invoices, that should help.

That shows what you've paid for, but contains no details of who the members are, their bar codes, their member choice selections, etc etc.

I mean, surely this is the most basic function of an online membership system? The website lets you look at what you've paid for in generic terms only, and there are like 30 tabs in the Geelong app and none of them has this info? It's crazy.
 
My mobile membership (single home no seat) shows two "tickets" for Friday's game for some reason.


Anyone else seeing this? I'd be surprised if this game had a bring a friend for free offer like they have done in the past.

Ok so the two are my member's choice extra tickets. Won't use them this week, I assume they just add them in each week until used.

Real ticket on a separate spot in app. Folks with this option be careful to use the right one!

Bar codes only show up 3 days before game.

So I've just found out the hard way that the thousand bucks you pay for a Social Club membership doesn't guarantee you entry into the social club at MCG games.

I've been an SC member for 20+ years and understand that we've always had to book a free seat when playing our home games at the MCG. But there has always been one there for us.

Went to do it just now and it says allocation exhausted. These aren't for guest passes, these are for full fee paying Social Club members.

What the actual motherloving F.

In what world is it ok that the Club get to double dip letting guests in before the paid members?

Yes I could have ordered earlier but 1) I was unsure if I'd be in the country and 2) I've never encountered this in 20+ years of being a SC member.

"But you do have access to the GA"... yeah, if I wanted to get berated by Pies fans and drink light beer I wouldn't have spent all that money over the years.

Sounds like in the future, you should just book your "free" seat in advance and then make up your mind at a later date to avoid missing out.

Agreed, but it's kind of beside the point as others will ultimately miss out also. I've paid a lot of money for a seat to our home games that I haven't been given, which doesn't seem right, nevermind the false advertising element of it.
 
Plastic member cards and lanyards (despite many reported as having received their lanyard already), are being processed to be sent mid-Feb, with arrival first week of March.
Plastic member/KP-seat cards arrived in the mail today....<sigh> and no lanyard(s). (Picks up phone)

This club needs a kick up the pants. So only social club members are getting lanyards this year, if you opted in (and since received) a plastic members card for your reserved seat the suggestion is to purchase a lanyard from the Cats Shop. ($10 - Geelong Cats Lanyard)

My feedback back up the chain was that if you buy a reserved seat alongside your membership and opt-in for a plastic members card, one would expect the club to provide a bloody lanyard seeing as the card has a hole in it for that very reason.

Club still never made right the generosity of those who remained members during the lockdowns, and now this pi$$take.

You know what's worse? For some unknown reason my mates and I in the social club each got sent a duplicate membership package with a second lanyard, keyring, stickers, pin, voucher etc in them. I'd imagine many other if not all social club members were sent these.What a colossal waste of money.

And you are 100% right about the club never making right the generosity of its members during covid.
