Darcy, Jackson and Amiss are the 3 non-negotiables for us.

I feel like the coverage of every other position is good enough, but those 3 are irreplaceable.
It's an interesting debate. I would add Frederick to that list and I don't even rate him in our top 10 players but he plays a role that no one else on the list can replicate. Ditto Jackson. To me they are the two true irreplaceables.
Amiss and Darcy aren't technically irreplaceable, they're just much much better in their role than Tabs (for Jye) and whichever random back up out of Reidy and Knobel is chosen (for Sean)

I’d love for Freddy to start tackling.
Run down pressure, it would make him AA.

If the club put anything other than TBA this early they'd be full of sh**. Most injuries are TBA or test the week a few days after they happen.

If it's still TBA in two weeks that's when you get worried.
Hopefully the TBA and smoking mirrors when it comes to injury reporting have had their day ... The AFL is cracking down as such, widely reported last day or so ... "The Australian Football League (AFL) has taken a definitive stand against clubs' vague injury reporting, demanding precise return dates for injured players starting in the 2024 season. This move comes after widespread criticism from fans and commentators, with Geelong, Richmond, and Essendon specifically called out for their opaque injury timelines. The new policy aims to enhance transparency and fan engagement, marking a significant shift from the previously criticized 'short, medium, or long term' labels."

I’m sorry but this is completely rubbish 2-3 days out from an injury. If clubs don’t know I’d rather them say so.

If we get estimates so soon after soon injuries it’s nothing but pure guesswork and people just complain they’re being lied to.

The club can give us a timeframe next week and I’d be 100% fine with it. I’d rather them be right than quick just because some fans can’t wait.

I mean, he has a point IF Jackson is only a ruck. Darcy is injury prone and having two out and out rucks on 1.9m (no idea where he got that from) is risky tstl, but...

FFS Kane, have you not seen Jackson play forward and midfield??!!!

Has he seen him play in the ruck? Literally the only good thing about Jackson in the ruck is his ability to be an extra midfielder - his actual ruck work is not actually good enough to be no.1 ruck.

I could probably say the same thing about last year’s All Australian ruck though tbh. Both players are obviously still very effective in terms of their overall impact on the game.

Yeah he frequently gets smashed in the ruck contests but if the ball hits the deck in disupte, the other team is ****ed. He does have the odd moment of actual ruckwork but you are right and he he's also too small for long term ruck work.

If it’s $1.9 mill it’s too much. Jackson is worth every cent, but Darcy is too injury prone
He's just guessed that number. IIRC he's never backed up that number with anything beyond speculation.

I reckon in trade for the 7 year security, Darcy would have gotten much less than 900 with some generous appearance and performance bonuses perhaps. Or whatever the new CBA equivalent of that is.

Steady on, no one is saying they need to give an exact prognosis in two days, they're saying that clubs are being deliberately opaque across multiple injuries and multiple weeks and that's not good enough

Kane Cornes spewing another garbage take, I know he's still bitter than Fyfe basically made him realise he needed to retire, but come on now, he has it out for us.

Actually the conversation started on the Darcy and NOD injuries which I believe we found out about Monday or Tuesday after a game. I just said the club shouldn’t put a timeframe on it if they don’t know.

Really need the Darcy injury to be minimal, can't afford to have him out for a long period of time.
Darcy misses games due to injury so we need someone else to stand up.
Reidy or Knobel probably aren’t ready but that may also make them better.
Using Jackson in the ruck severely hurts the forward line.
Only other option is Treacy/Jackson rotate and Voss plays.

Sucks for Adelaide that their tall going in for knee surgery injured his meniscus slightly deeper into the joint and will will nearly four months so that it can heal - where as our boys don't have that long because the things being removed aren't ever healing anyway, so snip snip, stitch stitch and get back out there B..

Snip snip doesn’t that just shorten your career?
