I'm pleading ignorance with these, I don't think I actually know how they work. I better do my homework on them
well i only do overs cause i dont have the money for unders lol but basically to really simplify it

Miers had 11 kicks and 10 handballs with his 1 goal that means 11 x 10 = 110 if he would of kicked 2 that would of been 220 etc

it also depends on the stake usually i just go $1

OK that does sound like something I can get my head around. I'm going to have a go at these

But if you do unders you could lose more than your stake? Is this correct?

And you never lose more of your stake when going the overs?

the deposit does kinda scare you off cause if you do a $1 stake you have to put the amount the over is for the player so Miers for OVER 70 or something like that so had to put the 70 on it as a withheld/deposit

but yea Worpel went crazy for me today 22 kicks 13 handballs 1 goal think it equaled $286

With these though if you don't get over the certain number you could lose $100 or something even if your staking $1? I had a quick look it stated Max loss amount in the hundreds.

if your just doing the OVERS then basically you could lose up to you much the OVERS is so if its OVER 50 the highest you can lose is $50 thats if its a $1 stake if its $2 then that goes up to $100 ya can lose etc

but for unders can be quite bad

Got to remember that if the player doesn't kick a goal then you've straight up lost it too (if picking the overs)

so if you were staking $5 at over 50 then you lose $250 by a player just not kicking a goal
yup exactly this dont think ive ever gone over like $2 stake tbh but id like to one day but not ballsy enough

You can theoretically lose an infinite amount. Like if you took Buddy under the day he kicked 13.

Place the bet then run on the ground and Tonya Harding them, winnings should cover legal fees.

PointsBet make it pretty clear the maximum amount you can win or lose is capped at 700. But yes 'theoretically' if there were no caps, you could lose an infinite amount.

I just had a look at that game for the Stat Multiplier (Kicks x Goals x Handballs) when Buddy kicked 13 goals, he only happened to have 1 handball that day but could have hurt the 'Unders' punter more if Buddy had chipped in with more handballs that day.

13 Goals x 1 Handball x 22 Kicks= 286 (verse North in 2012)

Tom Green had a game last year where his multiplier went 3 Goals x 21 Kicks x 17 Handballs=1071. With his line for one of the games this year being around 114, had it been that line for last years game against the Bulldogs, PB would have limited a punters maximum loss at 700 for a $1 stake. (if you had a heavier stake of $2 bet on unders, would have equated to $1,400 in loss ) In a theoretical world, if there were no limits in place, you could have loss 857 for a $1 stake. (and $1,714 for a $2 stake)

I guess the limits are in place, to protect the punter as well as protect the sportsbook. I think its very rare for a player to hit over 1000 in the Stat Multiplier, from my records (and someone may want to correct me here), only 5 players have managed to clear the 4 digit number, in the last 4 years: Nick Daicos, Tom Green, Oliver, Taranto and Jesse Hogan. All those players have cleared the 'magical' 1000 mark.

Is everyone else going into round 4 many units down for the season of just some?

Roughly 50u down for me so far in 2024.

On three different occasions, a bet was one more goal away from a +50u or +100u return.

Also, one twelve-goal multi was two goals away from +250u, and the forward who let me down kicked 1.2 that day.

This is why I keep a detailed spreadsheet of my punting, if I didn't have a record of all of this I would think I was down 150u for the year, that's what it feels like, it has been a horror season so far.
