Recon MoraesWould like to see Burgers go back there & Moraes & Berry both look like they could play wing with their strong running & pace. Looking forward to watching them in pre-season.
Actually quite weird how much leaks out of our club. Some how Cochrane was telegraphed since at least yesterday. Berry was obvious a mile out. Hell we were also linked to Whitlock. Literally seems like every one we pick is quite heavily linked to us in the media.Well no surprise there. Cal knows what we're doing.
Not in terms of the type of player, on the list right now there's no one with the smarts and class of Rioli. The only one we have of that kind is the Cat B rookieThere’s going to be a long line to replace Rioli.
He literally said it an interview that Port asked him to play midfield at SANFL mate, it's not a comment I make without any basis.I’ve seen some wildly naive things in my time, but the suggestion that sanfl clubs would play a junior up a level and “out of position” on ports request beats them by some margin. As if sanfl clubs would do that for port.
That’s not happening lol
The simple explanation is that teams played Barrett up the ground because they thought his best play was .. up the ground.
Sub 180 cm guys playing midfield in the sanfl to then play forward after being drafted is practically an afl trope.
Not a first round prospect at this stage and I think I've previously mentioned that his dad said he's been training with Saints NGA a lot and so perhaps more likely to choose them.Agree.
Is young Wakelin tracking to be a reasonable key defender? Maybe if he is, it might explain our willingness to trade away our first round pick next year and not target key defenders at all in this post-season.
What’s more, with the strange exception of Atkins, everyone new we’ve brought in plays forward-to-mid. Maybe Moraes starts as a HBF or eventually plays wing to allow Burgoyne to go back.

Will find it and let you know. He recently spoke in South Aussie Select which I've linked below but had another interview at the start of the year but can't remember the name. It was one I've never listened to before but came across it on Spotify. In the one below he talks about his rugby background, working a bit with Rioli and some other interesting things.Link to the interview?
I’d be interested to listen to that!
