At least Eddie isn't on TV anymore so won't need to hear how his kid is a national champion in American college "footy"

Mate he is a f**king punter. Had 1 punt and was the holder on FGs not like he wasn't easily replaced

Did anyone catch the shot of Eddie in the crowd at the 2:45 min of the 4th qtr ? He had his Collingwood is in the sh*t look 😂

You really think so? I didn't think they were as strong as previous Ohio State teams. I was actually surprised how dominant they were once the playoffs hit. Big wins against some ranked teams, it is like they found another gear or two. On the playoffs alone, they are deserving winners, as much as I hate them.
For a guy who became a fan at 7~8 years old in the 60s, it was amazing to beat big names like Tennessee, Texas, and even Notre Dame...Can't speak to what those schools are these days.
The new look NCAA and the NILs are off putting, were inevitable I guess, and at least grateful the Bucks ADs play the game well.
Feels good to take the championship, even thought the loss to that other school actually leaves a bitter taste. LOL For those not born into it, like myself in Columbus in 61 and whose first real living human heroes were Jim Otis and Jack Tatum, that game is a thing.
My take is those kinds of losses come down to poor play calling. Especially against monster front lines.

Eff me I didn't know that. What's with the different name?
I was quite pleased a few years ago when I discovered streaming of games to see their punter was an Aussie who was a Cats fan. :thumbsu: Now I have mixed feelings. :grinv1:

Look, by default as a Michigan fan, I should hate your guts. But as one of the better posters on here, I cannot. I appreciate that you grew up with them. Definitely would have been some journey, with long periods of lows. I cannot stand the types that jump on the bandwagons of the Bamas, Ohio State and Georgias of this world.

I started watching the game locally when a family friend started dating a player. He handed me an old school Michgian letterman jacket, and I was into them ever since.

Will be interesting to see how Ohio State matches up with some other teams having bigger financial pull when it comes to the age of NIL. We need a strong Ohio State out there. Need the rivalry to stay strong. I admit I wrote you guys off after Michigan. But those last few weeks were rather impressive. I always thought Day was holding you back, but todays win will buy him a few more years as coach now.

One thing that impressed me about the game was the apparent lack to overt trash talking or taunting. That big loss a month ago, Texas, there was dumb shit stuff going on even from the sidelines. I wonder if there was a directive of some sort.
Anyway it was nice to see some respect between opposing players. I even saw a Buck coach give what looked like a 'good hit' to a ND db on the sideline. Doesn't often happen anymore.

I have no problem with people who believe in religion. Whatever helps you thru life.

I am absolutely done with this nonsense. Ohio State and ND do NOT have a corner on “God’s” love.

I find it especially rich that I am expected to take this nonsense but yet when an athlete kneels during the stupid anthem it is some sort of capital crime.

I wonder if a Muslim praised Allah for blessing his team to be the winner—

What would happen.

As someone who doesn't take have interest in College Football can you please explain why they were seeded 8th?
Sure…top 4 conference champions get automatic top 4 seed

Oregon
Georgia
Boise State
Arizona State

Texas, the SEC runner up was made 5

Notre Dame can only be 5 seed or worse—committee made them 7

Penn State was deemed 6
Ohio State becomes 8 seed as 3rd place finisher behind Penn State in Big Ten

No system is perfect. Even before the playoff system when everything was determined by the coaches and AP poll, we always had ND ranking too high to get them to play in one of the premium bowl games.

I think they can use something like this:

Top 8 conference champions get automatic bid. (8)

Conference 9 and 10 teams play a play in game. (1)

7 at large bids. (7)

Notre Dame can get at large consideration since it is independent

Seed teams like NCAA hoops (1-16)

First two rounds on campus at higher seed.

After first round, top seed remaining hosts lowest seed remaining each consecutive round.

Would seem fairest way

The “reseeding” each round to have highest remaining seed play lowest remaining seed would discourage teams dropping a game at end of season to avoid conference championship game

Or a conference trying to engineer it

What different name. I think it's Joe McGuire.

Without looking I'm guessing 9 ran a segment on the news making it out like he was an important player like a DE. And Fox would of run clickbait same with others.

Would of been similar for ND because their punter is Matt Rendell kid

Power 4 and especially SEC/Big10 will never vote for 8AQ spots to champs.

16 is the way to go. Seed them on best teams but conference champs host games even if they are a lower Seed. I would have first 2 rounds on campus. Semis new years day rotating between NY6 and final 2nd weekend in Jan at the Rose Bowl every 2nd year and rotate between the other NY6 or sell to wherever

I know the ACC is looking into naming a conference champ based on record and having 2nd and 3rd best teams play championship weekend in a play in type game for the playoffs. Which seems dumb when they are not guaranteed 2 spots
