With Pick 22 Norf bid on Caiden Cleary.

The King! do you match the bid?

Nope all yours , he will want out at north in two years or so if he is any good and we will grab him then. Go home factor :p

Passing on a good academy prospect to keep picks in the 40s and 50s. Interesting.

Well it's a hypothetical and stuff it we won't use him anytime soon, i'm taking a punt in this game world if he makes it we can lure him home.

In the real world i'm not sold he is that good

another small mid who is average by foot

…. and you’re hungover & hence in no mood to deal with robbieando shenanigans.

Not sure how successful the strategy of "hey we don't think you're that good, but if you turn out to be, we'll take you back from the club that rates you" will go in any world, but hey, I made the deliberate decision to pick for Port...

Not necessarily advocating outside of a hypothetical game :p

Pick 23 - Collingwood select Archer Reid.

203cm with a long reach and an athlete.

He's played as a key forward and ruckman.

Mason Cox replacement, should pair up well with Mihocek and McStay in the future.

Over to you Dan87 for your Adelaide pick

Well North didn't really need another mid either, I'd have focused on the area not yet addressed i.e. Archer Reid as some support for Larkey (and Comben if he comes on). Possibly Logue moves forward once Curtin and O'Sullivan break in. But then if North actually bid on Cleary at that point, they'd expect we match. Curve balls all around.

true but as cheap as Norf are I am not sure they share the Bulldogs recruitment staff in real life either

More so shocked that a club would bid that early and risk missing out on a player they rate higher

I can see why some clubs might rate Cleary around that mark. I just don't see North as needing him or why we wouldn't match. But it is just a hypothetical and people think differently.

Crows will have an eye on tall defenders and it might happen here but today the local ruck talent/athletic beast Taylor Goad is taken at Pick 24. Another pick that's a bit speculative and upside based but that seems to be a theme for the Crows and the draft in general.

Goad has been playing seriously for a year after switching from basketball. He's 206 cm 95 kg and runs 20 m in under 3 s and has shown that power with his follow up work. Rapid improvement, terrific athleticism and a potential home grown number one ruck for a decade will be a fine result for this pick and with that the Crows are off to the pub.

Dubai Quacker

Despite my ZZ love, I’m not going there in my St Kilda guise.

Instead, St Kilda select Ashton Moir.

A dud draft year, but I’m taking the punt that his injury issues will resolve and he’ll become the “how on earth did we miss him???” story of this draft.

The King! …. you’re back up.
but is The King! still at his in-laws BBQ?
