Trades 2023 Round 8 Trades

Allen, Setters and Rata are all MAXXED OUT!

Steele and Mills are Bargains IMHO.

I'm targetting Mills and Steele so may as well grab them now?!?

Personally I'm looking for more than 90s from a 530k spend. I'd wanna see Mills show something or get his role from last year back before I trade him in.

A few short thoughts on what's on the horizon:

MIDFIELD
Neale could get close to 600k next week.

Ideally Touk will be back in time for the first bye at round 11, and with those two in my team, that'll be my midfield more or less done.

Though if Touk's recovery is looking drawn out, I'll have to go Cripps or one of the mids in line for forward DPP...

FORWARDS

Forward line planning is so tricky. Walsh, Gawn and Trac are all on track for DPP at the moment. All would be must-haves with DPP.

It could mean that Dunks, TT and Rozee - all of which I already have - will be the only forwards currently available who'll be top 6 come years end.

The only other player who seems to have a realistic shot at competing on that level is Cogs.

DEFENDERS

Don't own Ryan, and his price is good on face value, but his averages seem be on the slow decline. What do we reckon - will he go the distance? Surely JL switches up the Dockers defensive gameplan sooner or later - what would this mean for his scoring?

Ziebs is still weirdly representing good value, pumping out the 100s pretty consistently at 489k. I might be 150k too late, but the temptation to grab him just to get a rookie score off the field remains strong.

Ziebell plantar fasciitis 'moment' on weekend, no?
Not the ideal time for a non-owner to be getting onboard.

Oh I'm done for the week mate - just Pou & Greene for Simps and 'Cotta.

Just thinking ahead for round 9 and onwards. If Ziebs is no good this weekend than my question will have been answered.

Noah Anderson is grabbing my attention
I grabbed him last week and thought I'd stuffed up after his 89, but he was really good this week.

I had him in and out of my starting team all pre-season.

Hopefully he can keep his Round 7 efforts.

Problem is he won't play Richmond every week :moustache:

Not at all popular on the Freo board. Sounds like they'd prefer to never see him again!
Wilson had almost 30 touches, Worner had 30+ touches, Wagner had 16 touches. He didn't exactly respond well to being dropped. I'll be gobsmacked if he returns any time soon.

Worner was knocking down the door for a debut last year. Hopefully he gets one soon (bit a butcher by all accounts though).

I’m hoping that Merrett who is currently at 33% can get some more time forward hopefully Scott does Us a Favour

He's another one.
I read that Walsh is at 37%, Gawn 35%, Trac 32%.
That bunch will render the vast majority of currently available fwd candidates obsolete pretty quickly after r11.

If I decide against Angwin or Simpson, I might just Grundy to Gawn, basically as a downgrade.

It gives you $74k, and the points should be similar at least, with many thinking Gawn will start scoring better.

I would be hoping that Gawn gets FWD DPP too in round 12 too.

Or Pittonet...

How many trades do we need left before the byes I like my team the only player I’m disappointed in is Grundy but that’s only because Gawn seems to be favoured over him would love to turn Jones into Cin and Baker into Sinclair using Wilmot
Answering each question/statement in your single sentence, entirely lacking in proper punctuation, as best I can understand it:

1) It depends. I'd like to have about 15-16 maybe? But the way I'm going I'll probably have fewer that that.
2) I like it too. Except for Ridley, Haynes, Jones, Ratugolea and maybe 1 or 2 others.
3) You should keep Grundy as a gesture of support in the face of the blatant Gawn favouritism at the Dees. But in all seriousness, I think you have bigger problems. See 2 above.
4) If you have the cash, do it.

I’ve been going for value so far this season & collected a Motley Crew of PODish players.

The dilemma is should I continue on this value path and use two trades to get Steele?

Or burn my last boost, playing rookies & get Piggy?

I’m thinking that it’s almost this round or very much later for Piggy

I get taking a value approach when we are deciding between players who aren’t the creme de la creme types.

But Clarry is a 99% certainty to be a top 5 player. Steele isn’t.

I genuinely don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to get him as soon as you can?

Concerns about having the cash to finish the team probably.

Is Oliver and a rookie on field better than two lesser premo's?

I will need to burn my remaining playing rookies and be left with new rookies with low JS. e.g. going early on Weddle

We need warm bodies for byes & injuries e.g. JZ possible out this week

Also, that $100K+ will stop me from further upgrades for a while

I m going Piggy this week, then Steele next week

No idea what to do with Grundy

If Gawn is playing more time forward i do think he could average close to 100 from here on out. Would of scored over 100 last week but gave away a stupid 50. Issue is he could easily hand out a 50

Could go Grundy, Greene and Setters to Oliver, Witts and Cincotta

It's probably at least an option that could result in an OK keeper up forward.
Don't know why, but doesn't excite me at all tbh.
