Have loved owning Touk the last 2 years, but if GCS are gonna take it to the next level it's gotta be on the back of the other blokes in the mids taking on more responsibility doesn't it?

I wanna pick Touk again because the early fixture looks good, but I also don't wanna pick Touk because I rate Anderson and Rowell.
I think this is right, usually teams that win more score more SC points. Don't see Touk dropping off, more Ando and Rowell and others improving.

Interesting to see posters mentioning Anderson, he looks primed to breakout to me. Big, strong, super-fit (always high placing in club 3km's), in the leadership group, 4th year now. All the elements are there. Rowell going better will help him too as those two love to wax it.

Steady progress, priced at 100, averaged 112 after the bye. No questions on role like some of the other candidates in that price range (Green, Smith, LDU). Think I've talked myself into it lol.

What are the down sides compared to the other breakout guys? That bye sucks for one.

M5 Anderson or DLU.

I’m looking at starting Anderson at M5. He will step up to the next level in 2023 and look great at M8.
Would love to start Touk, but Laird gets the early nod ahead of him purely for a safe VC/C options during the early rounds.
Probably don't want too many Suns/Cats players either, given their bye is best 22. Touk could be targeted as the final upgrade.

The negative, it’s a worry the bye round OR….
The positive, they are great POD against your opponents early on.
35 trades again, can probably save one for a rookie downgrade to cover during that round? Who knows, maybe Bowes lasts that long?

You probably don't want to have 4/5 Cats/Suns players for that round, but 2 should be OK?

I’m only looking at 2 maximum at this stage. I think any more could be too many to cover.

Long time, first time for this forum. Cripps, Zerrett or Parish?
Welcome !

I've actually gone Zerrett myself ....did have Titch for a long time

Zerrett's back half of last season was super impressive .....I expect Scott to have a positive effect on Zerrett

Zerrett's scoring bonanza coincided with Parish's absence though ....factoring that in though, will Scott want the ball in Zerrett's hand, or Parish ? ......IMO it's the former

Welcome aboard!

Cripps for me, the other two have tiny little chols that shrink even more when they can't run around in circles handballing pointlessly to each other.

This is harsh on Parish. His issues seem to be lack of tackles and somewhat haphazard kicking. Wonder if Scott can get him tackling?

Soft stat-padder that can't/won't/doesn't defend. Brad Scott will love him! :moustache:

Maybe the right coach gets him going, someone lit a fire under Merrett for awhile last year. So it can happen.

Most stoppages will set up with one attacking mid. Without inside knowledge I'd take a stab that Parish is normally the one attacking mid when he's there. Makes him look great if we win it and completely useless if we don't.
I've heard a rumour that he has a very high opinion of himself. I have no idea if it's true but if Scott can slap that out of him and get him tackling/defending more in general play it would be great to see.
Not worth selecting as a starter imo but if he gets on a hot streak and you have someone spudding it up then jump on and giddy-up :horseracing:

Haha. I think Cripps. He puts his cape on when Walsh is out. Also was called on last year to chop out in the ruck, to the detriment of his scoring.... shouldn't happen next season with Pittonet playing more games and Young becoming an option. You'd also expect Carlton to win a few more games.

From the bargain bin.... Fyfe or E Hollands or Perkins? All seem underpriced.
I grabbed Perkins last season as a speculator at $270k thinking he'd get mid minutes like in the PS. Easy trade down to any rookie if you missed a cracker and Perkins doesn't work out. Perkins didn't fire. I rate him but at $314k and Fwd only in 2023 (think he was mid/fwd last season) I reckon there are better options.
Keep an eye on his role and his scores though.
Fyfe if he gets through PS without any niggles at all ( :straining: )
