A small forward 😂. This draft is beyond compromised, the continued concessions given to north are a joke
I was shocked they have 5 first round picks. Like yes, their own and that stupid pick 3 for mckay.. But the afl gave them two extra 1st rounders? Anything they got should have been after the 1st round. Just ridiculous.

The most extraordinary aspect of it all is that Laura Kane admitted to working on North's proposal for assistance before then approving it on behalf of the AFL.

And all of this "assistance" was from their own doing. Got rid of so much depth (even if they were no good) back in 2020 they had to start over.
Why is that AFL's problem and hence everyone else's? Because we can't have a non competitive north...

It sends a terrible message to other clubs. The AFL wants a competitive competition, yet it rewards clubs for tanking.

What they should have received was simply an increase to their soft cap. Bring in quality coaches and player development staff. They have had enough high picks over the years. Obviously the development is not up to standard.

Constantly giving North draft concessions immediately impacts other clubs. Particularly those in the bottom half who are trying to build a team.

I wouldn’t mind picking up Jiath if he is around our second pick and there are no decent talls around. If he is a better version of his brother, could be good to have him running off half back in 2 or 3 years.

It’s Melbourne in the late 2000’s/early 2010’s all over again, except now the AFL doesn’t just hand out a priority pick for tanking, but instead they’ll hand out a whole suite of picks because a club is completely inept.

Fold the ****ers and send them to Tassie, nobody will miss them.

Seems we are considering bidding on Graham.

The sixth player who could receive a night one bid this year is Will Graham, who’s the fourth young gun out of the Suns academy. He’s also expected to be in attendance at the first night of the draft.

Multiple sources have told foxfooty.com.au Collingwood is considering launching a bid on Graham with its first-round selection, which is currently Pick 19.

Quick and powerful, yet also clean and composed with ball in hand, Graham averaged 16.5 disposals and 5.0 marks while going at 79.5 per cent efficiency by foot for the Allies during the national championships playing primarily as a defender with a few midfield stints. He also had VFL exposure, playing four games for the Suns.

The Suns have already prepared for an array of early bids on their academy prospects as they hold six second-round selections: Picks 24, 26, 27, 32, 36 and 38. However it’s understood the Suns are open to splitting Pick 24 – the second pick of the second round of the draft – in order to gain more points. The Brisbane Lions are one of several clubs exploring ways to get their hands on Pick 24.

Oh good, I was starting to worry that Sydney weren’t going to have another highly rated academy player coming through this year…
Not knowing Graham is a Suns academy player and thinking he's tied to Sydney is quite the howler, some research to broaden the knowledge is required I think.

Oh even better. They definitely needed a 4th player to add to the other 3 first round players they’re getting this year 🙄
Obviously. What else would they do with their second rounder? They’ll split that into two separate picks and grab another. By the time the first round ends, almost half the national draft will be over.
