Jack Steele in 12% of teams is ridiculous. Wasn’t he basically a lock?

Ross wants to move the ball faster with less stoppages
Classic Ross saying that preseason and come the actual season:

From Abdul who came 4th last year in SuperCoach in the HoneyBall magazine:

"Your key to success is your F5 spot, your D4 spot and your M6 spot. Those 3 positions, if you get them perfect, you’re set, because they’re usually covered by rookies. If you can cover those positions with players who can score 90+, you’re going to have the edge on a lot of teams."

Im gathering that that quote suggests, you should play 4 premos in forwards, 3 premos in defence, and 5 premos in midfield? Am i thinkin out of line here?

I think what he says more lends itself to picking the right high priced rookies and mid pricers. You couldnt afford to have premiums or even lower priced premiums in all those positions.

I get the general consensus reading the defenders thread, is to include up to 3 premo defenders, which for me sounds about right. Im not sure about midfielders specifically but at the moment I have just the 1 premo midfielder.

That's concerning. What does your midfield look like?

Midfielders are where the points are at. Going soft in the midfield is not normally a good idea because the best midfielders can be super difficult to trade up to during the season.

Seeing a lack of Josh Kelly in some teams interesting. 6% owned, No TT or Hopper, new coach so no stuffing around, has been between 114-118 over the course of 3 years, ceiling like no other and only 580k. Injury risk but for the price reward outweighs risk.

:padlock: in my side ....GWS great opening fixture ....Jelly playing inside mid, 70% CBA's

We want to keep ownership low

Thanks, I was tossing up whether or not I should select Kelly and this convinced me. Anyone see any obvious problems with this midfield? I'm contemplating swapping Macrae out for Petracca but think it'd be wise to start with Macrae and reassess later.

Do I dare go back to my lovechild?

It's all Laird this, Piggy that when talking about who the number one mid will be.

Feel like we're forgetting the man with some of the best calves in football (who also happened to be the number one total points scorer last year).

That's 14 premos assuming you have 2 in the ruck, which isn't possible

Technically is, but you're buying absolute low-end premos at that rate (plus basement rooks) which I wouldn't recommend.

Interesting Laird and Oliver averaged ~151 and 150 last yr before scaling. Bont 141

Sorry for being slow but does this mean they’re better picks or not? Or no real insight?

I thought Bont was the king of scaling tbh - I started with him last year and remember being absolutely astonished he toned up rounds 1 & 2

Ive logged into another computer and cant see my team. I will get home in an hours time, can give you more details.

I know Clayton Oliver was the highest averaging player like year in SuperCoach.

HoneyBall interview with the guy that came 4th last year in Supercoach "For example, this year, Clayton Oliver and Rory Laird, there’s no value there. They’re priced at their max."

He instead says look for players that can increase in value.
