If we lose this weekend and pickup pick 11 for Grundy we might end up with 5,11,13,24,31 and F1 to play with.

Surely we can trump Bulldogs 10 and 17 for pick 4 with that hand.

Don’t wish to shit on people’s dreams but Brodie Grundy would’ve been barely worth #11 when he was at his peak in 2019. Sydney aren’t that desperate.

Probably a package deal, wouldn’t be straight swap. Could include other picks/players. Eg Grundy/Tomlinson and F2 for 11

Feel like Caddy is destined to be a Stringer-type tweener. Won't have the size to be a proper KPF (Curnow is the exception, not the rule), and won't have the endurance, craft and defensive discipline required to be a mid.

Of course, I could be wrong, but not overly keen on using our top pick on him.

Curnow is 1-2 cm taller (194cm) but more than that Curnow plays taller because of his incredible athleticism and vertical leap.

I share your and others’ concerns about Caddy. I’d pass.

Caddy is 1cm taller than Curnow was on his draft year at this stage.

Can only comment on their respective heights right now. Caddy may not grow a millimetre taller. Also re-read my comment on Curnow’s leap/athleticism.

I’m not seeing a good comparison between these two. Was a huge fan of drafting Curnow back in 2015. Not feeling Caddy but that’s just me.

Hi guys and hope I'm not intruding.
So pi..sed off that you went down last Thursday. I have money on you winning the flag so I hope you can bounce back.
A question if I may.
What sort of player do you see James Jordan as? Is he a Liberatore type inside mid or an outside running receiver? I haven't seen enough of him this year to make that determination. Secondly, does he have a future with Melbourne as he is obviously behind quite a few at the moment?
If and I say IF, Melbourne were to look at trading Grundy to us, I'm wondering if Jordan could be a part of that deal. Grundy on his own for our pick 21 or Grundy and Jordan for our first (11)?
Thoughts.

JJ is a free agent for starters.

As a player he's functional at inside mid and wing. Runs hard defensively and tackles well. Think George Hewitt-lite.

He may have scope to improve if given regular opportunities but to me seems a classic role player at best.

Offer Ollie Lord a juicy contract to come home.

Dixon is going around again and if Georgiades (pending knee recovery) and Marshall are playing next year, he might not get as many games. Especially if they get Grundy.

Was a super impressive game on Harris Andrews in a final.
Presumably they'll play all three, but I hope we make a play to turn his head. They need picks for Grundy, BZT and Ratugolea. Hasn't been overly impressive before the weekend, but he is the right profile for us.

With the Gus news, I wonder if we look mid.
Unless we move Rivers mid we literally have no one else. There's no promising young mids coming through the VFL. Woey probably has the most upside and I think his ceiling is similar to ANB.

Hopefully Howes can take a HBF spot to allow Rivers mid. If the club doesn't think that'll happen, we have to look mid.

100% need Howes to come on next year. I see him more as a Winger though, and I can't see him taking Langdon or Hunters position yet. But maybe a move of Salem forward could open up a spot across half back? Maybe Howes could play midfield? Definitely need more depth midfield. Maybe Sparrow needs to go in there more permanently? I have no idea. Riv seems obvious, but leaves us thin down back potentially with Pig retiring and Salem being s***.

Also forgot they have Finlayson that plays the same role.

Now would be the time to dangle something in front of him, as Dixon will be gone the year after and he'll back himself to stay in the team in 2025.

Fair difference between 'being into' a potential recruit and actually landing him

Cause this whole being into players thing is a testicle tickle for nothing

I can say we are into Naughton, Daicos and Curnow.

The whole conversation would have gone this far-
Melb- Hey can we have McKay?
Carlton- No

With the Gus news, I wonder if we look mid.

If Sydney are as keen on Grundy as reported, instead of asking for pick 22 or 30 maybe we should look at Dylan Stevens in a swap deal? I think this kid can play a bit. Has lovely skills, would instantly be the best field kick among our midfield group - a weapon we are sorely lacking.

A former Pick 5 in 2019 doesn’t guarantee stardom but he certainly has pedigree. Clarko apparently keen to bring him to North.
