Will brown is another interesting player. Captain of the dragons, got best on in the grany with 18 and 3. 194cm midfielder but no one seems to rate him. Definitely worth a later pick.

GF performance suggests he could be anything.

Name suggests he could be anyone.

Started the year in the middle but played mostly forward after that I believe

I think a 3rd tall forward type is probably where he plays at AFL level.

Agree…he’s a handy type, may just need opportunities

He's young and has some nice traits and size. Not sure he'll be a star but he's got something, maybe a bit of a DMac type of slow burn. He had his lowest output for the year in the GF but some of the things he did were really nice small acts that help the side over his own game. You need a few of those.

Mannaugh and Hollands are probably the ones you'd take on today's game.

Its interesting that neither Milne , nor Betts, the best two small forwards from the the 00's were taken in the main draft.
Might be worth throwing a late pick at Mannaugh.
Butler and Higgins aren't great when the ball goes to ground in the 50.

Id be happy with Darcy Wilson and another midfielder if we end up with a second early pick. After that with the tall depth I think we go best available.

Then 3rd round look at a player like Shaun Mannagh.

The next two years drafts are meant to be a strong midfielder drafts, so plan to pick up more mids then.

McKercher would be such a perfect addition to Owens, Phillipou, Windhager. Has a nice balance of grunt, class and breakaway power.

Probably need pick 2 or 3 though? Would really like to see the club shoot for it.

If everything went perfectly.. (haha)

IN: P13
OUT: Gresham

IN: P7 (Geelong) F2
OUT: P12 P13

IN: P2 (NM)
OUT: P7 F1 Clark (only as a Hail Mary)

Would mean we lose; Gresham, Pick 12, Future 1st (maybe Clark)

Gain; Pick 2 (McKercher), Future 2nd

Think I’d be pretty happy with that.

You better hope he’s generational if you’re giving all that up for him

There's an interesting stalemate at the top end of the draft.
Norff need a KPD in Curtin but also want Reid
WC want Curtin and Reid has supposedly said he wants to stay in Vic.

WC can roll the dice with Reid and lose Curtin the next pick, or just take Curtin and lose the benefits of trading p1.

I expect they'll trade p1 but they must then hold pick 2. How much more they can get will be interesting to watch. Picks 2&3 is a lot to ask but they will also want that p14 that Norff hold because of the WA boys in the bottom half of the first round.

Between that and GC auctioning their p4 the whole top 5 is up in the air with the Hawks being the only ones who han sit and chill.

At a guess
1.Norff - Reid
2.WC - Curtin
3.GC - Walter
4.GWS - ???
5.Hawks - ???
6. ??? (Hopefully Saints)

Accumulate and package a bunch of 2nd, 3rd, 4thRDPs. Get GC's pick and hope for the best. If McKercher gone take Sanders.

Interesting! So perhaps our best shot at McKercher is before Hawthorn at no3 assuming norf pick up the extra selection for McKay.

If wce switched their pick with norf and gained something else at end of first round it could look like: (GC bids removed)

1. Norf - Reid
2. Wce - Curtain
3. ____ - McKercher

Since curtain would be off the board, maybe norf are more likely to look at a trade for that pick?

2 and 3 got traded for pick one last year. That should be the asking price again I would think

If somehow Norff can keep p3 l doubt they'd trade it, but you never know.

What the hell are we doing trading a future first?
If anything we want to collect future picks as next year's draft seems to have more midfield depth.
