#1 clearance player

by comparison Merrett is 54th
They do different things better and if anything compliment each other, hence why it's not an either/or in my side. Neale is the contested release from stoppage king, Merrett is the second/third link of the chain i.e perfect gut running outside midfielder with polish.

Bont is another contested possession/clearance beast, but also heavily involved in all three of goals, assists and score involvements. Petracca is the clear midfield king for those latter qualities.

Butters doesn't quite read as high on any particular one off metric (very good for most though especially scoreboard impact), but really is Port's engine and had those stack of BOGs to assert them as a force. He's faded a little and Rozee grown so it's getting closer between these two. There's room for both if there's like 8 or 9 midfielders in the team (likely) but not if there's 5 or 6 IMO.

One thing to notice as well though is the team style. Port has the lowest possession game plan which can make their player's stats look worse than other players.

Merrett will start. Has been a top 5 sides best player all year. He starts
top 5 team?

**** you are clutching on to things.

If you aren't in the top 4 you are just a top 8 team lol

can’t remember a worse year for AA rucks
just last year was much worse? a cooked gawn who missed significant amount of the year was selected

this year we have some rucks doing great. darcy, english and marshall have all put together impressive seasons that should see them make squad at least. blicavs is having another impressive year as a tall utility, and i think mcinerney's season has been pretty good as well.

David Cuningham has been a bit of a live-wire forward for us, and hasn't lost a game this season. Another one quietly 'putting their hand up' as people say.
