Adelaide news reporting that next year's 1st Rd to be involved with trade for rankine. Seems strange that we aren't in need of a top 5 pick next year but.... if Adelaide bottomed out and it turned out to be pick 1 or 2 then happy days. Or we trade it on to another club for a player, a tarryn thomas type for example. So I guess it could work in our favour

I feel like clubs we trade futures with shoot up the ladder. Adelaide must be licking their lips in anticipation of getting some of that go their way.

Adelaide obviously want the top pick for this draft and just have a player in mind. But yeah, Suns don’t really want it at this stage (but could trade that pick next year instead—but it might lose some value if clubs know we don’t want it).

Stupid.

Crows only finished 2 games behind us.. and played some really good footy on odd occasion.
Reminded me of us last year.

Beat port tigers dogs and Carlton to name a few.

U take the known commodity in pick 5 this year.

Sorry but stuff that. A 22 year old getting offered 4 mil over 5 years warrants pick 5. It’s been quoted here that Rankine would rather re-sign here than walk to the PSD so Adelaide needs to pay up or piss off

Spot on, this would once again show a weak position from the club. I hope this proves to be incorrect

Exactly a lot of people thought Collingwood would be a bottom 4 side this year and look what's panned out.

If anything.. if the club wants into next year…
U take pick 5 off the crows..

u then trade it to someone like Richmond who need draft capital
this year for Taranto and hopper.

So u offer pick 5 and 25 and 33

( 25 and 33 points value equals approx pick 11)

For Tigers pick 12
Plus a future first.

Leaves us with 7, 12 and 32 in 2022

Then can trade away picks 43 , 51 , 68 , and 69 for future picks in 2023

Also if we were willing to offer Rankine 650k and Fiorinj is on 500k then why aren’t we going hard for Dunkley if he’s open to moving to QLD??? surely a 5 year 750k offer would be enough to entice him. Offer the dogs pick 5 and our future 1st and there’s no way they say no to that either

Dunkley is likely to join port Adelaide his partner is living there playing netball

Doesn't she have a 1 year deal? Which means about 5 months really. Can't see it being a factor.

I reckon it's the Lions, otherwise it would have been announced. Geez we should be trying to get in there.

Yeah, I don’t know if Dunkley is open to a move to QLD as such, but rather a move to a top 4 team headed to a prelim with a hole in their side for a player exactly like him. Until we have even shown we can sniff finals, let alone consistently play in September, we are not even in these conversations.

Plus it will just mess with our plans of running Rowell into the ground.

Don't think we are running Rowell in to the ground, think it was more a matter of he couldn't run so play a role for the team where he doesn't need to run as much. Definitely wouldn't say no to dunkley but I think our need is more on the outside. I'm keen for tarryn thomas but things have gone quiet on that front too. Hopefully there is something that has been kept quiet.

Gold Coast’s uncontracted key forward Josh Corbett has attracted interest from Fremantle.

The Dockers are one of multiple clubs including West Coast to show early interest in Gold Coast wingman Jeremy Sharp, a former East Fremantle player, but he is contracted to 2023 and the Suns would have to agree to a trade. Melbourne clubs are also inquiring about Sharp, the No.27 draft pick in 2019, who has played in a more defensive wing role at the Suns but is highly rated by list bosses for his all-round midfield game.
