So they haven't actually given dates or times for any of these apart from round 1. We have byes rounds 8, 11, 16 and 22. No double ups, we fail to meet Brisbane and Preston this year.
Round 1: Geelong vs Essendon, Kardinia Park, Saturday March 26, 2:05 PM (likely Ch7 game)
Round 2: Casey vs Essendon, Casey Fields
Round 3: Essendon vs Frankston, Windy Hill
Round 4: Port Melbourne vs Essendon, North Port Oval
Round 5: Essendon vs Collingwood, Windy Hill
Round 6: Footscray vs Essendon, Whitten Oval
Round 7: Essendon vs Box Hille, Windy Hill
Round 8: BYE
Round 9: Richmond vs Essendon, Punt Road Oval
Round 10: Essendon vs Coburg, Windy Hill
Round 11: BYE
Round 12: Essendon vs Carlton, Windy Hill
Round 13: Sandringham vs Essendon, Trevor Barker Oval (death, taxes, etc)
Round 14: Williamstown vs Essendon, Point Gellibrand Oval
Round 15: Essendon vs Sydney, Windy Hill
Round 16: BYE
Round 17: Essendon vs Gold Coast, Windy Hill
Round 18: Southport vs Essendon, Fankhauser Reserve
Round 19: Essendon vs North Melbourne, Windy Hill
Round 20: Greater Western Sydney vs Essendon, Blacktown International Sports Stadium
Round 21: Essendon vs Werribee, Windy Hill
Round 22: BYE
Breakdown:
9 home/9 away (unusual, they like to give stand alone sides 10/8 and the reverse for AFL sides)
2 interstate trips to Southport and GWS
Of the 7 away games in Victoria, two are in the south eastern suburbs (Casey and Sandringham), one in the inner west (Port), one in the inner east (Richmond) and two in the west (Footscray and Williamstown) and one in the country (Geelong). Casey really the only one hard to get via PT, the rest are within 10 minutes walk of a train or tram station
I'm a little disappointed they haven't gone with 23 rounds and only 3 byes so everyone can play each other but alas, they've gone this way. Will break it down against the AFL at another time.
