Not sure how I feel about this. Does anyone rate him? Hard to tell from his stint at Carlton.

I’m 50/50 on Bolton as a coach, and not enthused by the nepotism presented by McRae/Leppitsch/Bolton/MrsMcRae/Aker/Lethal etc. etc.

I'm not a particularly big fan of his. I'd like Leppitsch and Tapping alongside Selwood and Skipworth. Does that leave room for one more appointment? Dream appointment would be the return of Buddha
Hocking has got his own team in SA and the way the Buckley kicked him out but kept Sanderson ect because Hocking actually challenged him and club did nothing about it... was disgusting. Hocking was a massive part of why we got to the GF. I'd love him back.

That’a where he does his best work
As a caretaker he hasn’t lost LOL

yes but what about press conferences after games - whether we've won or lost. Think of Bolton speaking for us...our team... Bolton.... Brendan Bolton. Could we walk down the street and not think people were laughing at us? It's a chilling thought

I won’t lie...I find it odd you would choose to be “mentored” by a guy who had a win loss record of 20% across 4 years...that too me is just not logical
Hopefully that play on words was just that...a play on words by the media about him being his mentor

McRae is eager to have Bolton come in and oversee the football program and structure.

Collingwood are also poised to employ Justin Leppitsch as a senior game strategist and assistant coach to his former premiership teammate and close friend McRae.

McRae said when he was appointed that he was after the best people and not just hiring his friends but that Leppitsch was also one of the best defensive coaches and games strategists he had seen.

Given the ages of McRae, Leppitsch and Bolton they are mindful of adding a more youthful assistant coach to also work with Hayden Skipworth and Scott Selwood who are both still at the club as assistant coaches.

Collingwood had been determined from the outset of their coaching selection process that they were not only looking to replace the senior coach but to construct a full coaching panel of coaches with complementary skills.

They are also talking with another current assistant coach about a role as a stoppages coach.

Yeah Bolton's just a poor man's Brad Gotch...Buddha and Tapps would be the dream team and just the alternative voices that Macca was interested in incorporating into his coaching group. Bolton's of the Clarko mould minus the killer instinct. Macca already has the Clarko influence.

Let him get the people around him that he wants. Support him with people he is comfortable with & has confidence in. If that is Bolton & Leppitsch then lets get behind them all. The coach knows these guys strengths & what they can bring to the club, better than any of us can. I'm excited to see what changes occur to the way we play.

The current assistant coach they refer to in this article as being targetted to take on a role with stoppages would be Tapping I reckon. Has done well at Brisbane, Lachie Neale is a big fan, and he would have good relationships with a lot of the playing group too

I’m not sure how relevant rumours of players disliking Bolton are. As an assistant there’s always someone else any players in that situation can gravitate to. As long as there’s professional respect that’s enough.
