Who cares? How much Lobb is paid does not impact his ability now he’s at the club. Calling a good solid player a spud because he’s paid like a star isn’t right - he’s still a good solid player.

He’s out of contract next season meaning after that he’s paid for his output. Right now though I’m happy to have Lobb at the club.

I wouldn’t trade him. As I said elite ruck/forwards barely exist but Lobb is one of the best. Most teams settle for guy who’s a good forward but sh*te ruck as their second ruck - we don’t have to.

I think 60% of all players earn under $400,000

Arguably half of all players are best twenty two, give or take a player, so it's reasonable to think a player who is mid twenties and still in the system would be a top half player in his team and I'd assume around the mark.

Meek is developing as a second ruck and if he can add goal kicking to his game (which he is starting to in the WAFL) than Lobb is on the outer end. This is coming from someone who loves the Lobbster but I personally think Meek will be a weapon.

I'd also give up our first. Just think that'd barely scrape the barrel with what the pies would want for him. i reckon besides Grundy, Sidebottom and De Gooey* he'd be their most important player.

There is a clear argument that he is best for position in the afl. It is also clear that he has a significant positive impact on our forward line. 3@500k would be a bargain.

Can’t say I saw a single piece of forward craft or anything that would suggest Meek would have any at AFL level. He’s a long way off as a ruck forward but looks a good back up for the no.1 ruck position.

Lobb would probably kick 6-8 at WAFL level. Let’s be honest.

Why? You would be throwing darts at a dartboard - exactly the same as the self-proclaimed experts in the media and they have no issues with the ethics of it.

Off the top of my head I’d have Tom Hawkins, Oscar Allen, Luke Jackson, Tim English all ahead of him as forward/rucks to name just 4.
He’s currently around the same level of output as Justin Westhoff/Oscar Mcinerney (when he was no 2 to Stef martin)/Jon Ceglar/Sinclair from sydney. That general range.
In his first year here in 2019 he was a top 10 player at the club but has not reached those heights since.
Not saying he should be dropped either btw, still well ahead of 4 gamer Meek.

Other sports pays are made public.

If the AFL let out the figures, the media would be asking about how some players are getting paid so low. Side deals would be investigated.

So I’ve gone and done it! I guessed most salaries, removed the rookie listed players that are apparently paid outside the cap and also discounted $190k from Mundy for some kind of veterans rebate that he gets I think, and got very close - a total of $12,185,000.
TPP is 12.1 million.
