That time has come again to demonstrate your incredible knowledge and foresight, just fluke a few guesses, or make a fool of yourself. Either way put your thoughts out there!
For the record, last year we voted for a Top 8 of:
West Coast
Collingwood
Richmond
GWS
Brisbane
W Bulldogs
Port
Geelong
A pretty good effort! Our best guess so far. Only St Kilda surprised last year, replacing GWS in that 8.
So our prediction thread has gone:
2020: 7 of 8
2019: 6 of 8
2018: 5 of 8
2017: 6 of 8
2016: 5 of 8
So going by that trend, we're likely to pick at least 2 sides that will fail to make the 8. Who will we overestimate this year?
Only 2 people picked the Tigers to win the flag: tribey and EskimoPAFC
Only a few picked DBJ to make the AA side: FishingRick04, TommyLogan#44 and Macca19 who also picked DBJ for the B&F and nailed that. Hammer#8 also picked DBJ for B&F.
No one got Neale for the Brownlow.
No one picked Boak or Dixon for AA.
Whilst a few people had the Crows in 17th, no one picked them for the spoon.
Not sure I could declare a most accurate from last year, there's a lot of similar selections, no one picked Port to go so well and most people overrated GWS whilst under rating St Kilda.
My predictions for 2021
1. Brisbane
2. Geelong
3. Port Adelaide
4. Richmond
5. Western Bulldogs
6. St Kilda
7. West Coast
8. GWS
9. Collingwood
10. Carlton
11. Fremantle
12. Melbourne
13. Hawthorn
14. Essendon
15. Gold Coast
16. Sydney
17. Adelaide
18. North Melbourne
GF & Premiers: Brisbane Vs Richmond - Richmond Premiers
Wooden Spooner: North Melbourne
Brownlow: Marcus Bontempelli
Coleman: Joe Daniher
Power B&F: Dan Houston
Power AA’s: Amon, Butters, Houston
Power Most Improved: Amon, Drew
Power Rising Star Nominees: Bergman
For some added fun.....
A Positive Story Line from the year:
- SA Health removes the restrictions on Crowds before a Friday night home game between Port Adelaide and Collingwood where Port Adelaide will don the PB's.
Negative Story Line for the year:
- The Crows win the battle for the spoon in the last game of the year against North Melbourne, avoiding their 2nd wooden spoon.
