The powers have wanted this to happen for a few years now. They finally have an excuse to execute it.seroiusly whats the point of 16min qtr?
if your going to play a game of footy, whats an extra 4 min per qtr???
Play or dont play
You can get the data from AFL tables:Where did you find this info? Is there a way to get data from 2018?
Anyone else in panic mode with all the unknowns due to shortened quarters and season?
Do those players that rest forward now play full time mid?
I haven't considered Dusty much at all this preseason but now he's in my team.
Surely teams need their impact players in the guts for longer so instead of resting forward for 4 minutes a quarter they play out the whole quarter in the middle?
Idk. Probably over thinking it all
Rankine’s replacement.
Ben Cavarra to debut Against Collingwood.

Seems like a Bevo moveNo idea what happened to your coding, but that's come out of nowhere.... No Marsh series time..... Was listed as good in one of the intraclub games....
So does this really hurt Whitfield.
He was a regular 4th quarter performer because his tank was so good.
He's a good player, and the good players will still score just as well i think. Wouldn't there still be junk time in 16 minute quarters too?
If there ends up being multiple games played throughout weekdays etc then that probably brings blokes like Whitfield, Gaff, hell even Polec, into the equation even more. Theoretically they should be able to pump out another game at full fitness while others tire around them. Whitfield could pump out an 80 one game and 200 the next if it's played 3 days later. All hearsay, and I guess no one really knows. At least all our teams are going to be wildly different this seasonPresumably less time for blowouts and therefore less junk time.
Definitely possible but i don't think we will be in a position to say not to a 170k bench optionSeems like a Bevo move
Could be in and out though?
Bevo gets pretty crazy at selections sometimes

I'm in a small player dilemma... please help.
Weller & Cumming
vs
Howe & Rowbottom
Can see improvement in all, just can't pinpoint the exact amount of improvement in each. Weller probably has the least upside but is a safe as houses pick one would think
Thanks. That's the push I neededI prefer Howe and Rowbottom.
Rowbottom is guaranteed to play inside mid, and Howe is an underpriced proven performer.
Cumming may not play each week, and will be sharing time in a stacked team, so a wide range of possible outcomes. Weller is a good pick, but as you say, a bit conservative.
I feel like there will be a few more unexpected rookies like Cavarra named tonight, it happens most years. Really keen to see if we pick Bedford, in my opinion he deserves a spot, isn't going to rotate through the midfield as such but will play a high half forward role if named.
On another note I've been experimenting with a side with/without Grundy and I'm starting to think I might now start with him. Grundy averaged 42 hitouts a game last season. Shorter games mean less stoppages. Even if he loses say 10 points a game from hitouts its still a win. Grundy will still score well around the ground though so its a pretty big punt. English will score a bulk of his points around the ground aswell. These predicted averages are not based off the 16 min quarters because really, who knows how much that will change.
Option 1.
Grundy (120)
Rowbottom (85?)
Hanneberry (100)
= 305
Option 2.
English (90)
D.Martin (105)
McCluggage (105)
= 300
Option 3.
Natanui (80)
D.Martin (105)
Gaff (110)
= 305
Option 4.
English (90)
McPherson (100)
Gaff (110)
= 300
Im starting to lean towards option 2 and 4. But I have a feeling these 16 minute quarters could help Dusty play nearly full time mid.
Another view and a good spin on things. I would lean towards 4 there. Personally I think Mcpherson is a better option than Mcluggage.I feel like there will be a few more unexpected rookies like Cavarra named tonight, it happens most years.
