The AFL is trying to develop AFLW ......what better way to develop it than to startup a new competition in opposition ....and reduce the media noise of AFLW by promoting heavily AFLX

Good one AFL  .......geesus a marketing newbie can see what the impact will be on AFLW crowds

I hate to admit it but without Phillips playing I lost interest in the lady crows anyway. This doesn’t help though

Imo, Gallucci is the front runner to replace Cameron as a forward/midfielder... but your remarks are Vader like on Hampton.

When he played last year, it was mainly as a forward, who applied plenty of tackling & pressure. How is that not playing like a small forward?

Imo, there is room for both.

Ps. CC was the one with a golden pass last year, as his form was dreadful for much of the season but the selectors refused to drop him.

Whilst I don't believe in dropping players after a couple of poor games, anyone who has a poor month of footy should return to the sanfl to find form.
Not dropping him annoyed me, however it inadvertently landed us the Fog, so it could turn out ok

Plenty of praise from team mates and coaches for Doedee and Gallucci's preseasons so far. Looking forward to seeing how they're tracking tomorrow.
Would love for Doedee to come in and make us immediately forget about the Douche who shall not be named. Even if he plays that role to 85% it would be a solid pass IMO

So thats knight tex and greenwood likily to miss round 1 now?
Thor might be missing JLT I think, but should be OK for round 1 I think.

Knight is disappointing, but he is replaceable. Just need to make sure guys like Gibson and Hampton get through the pre-season so we still have some depth to pick from if the worse happens and these guys still aren't available.

Don’t think Greenwood is at that point where he can have a preseason injury but still be a shoe in for Round 1

Think we may have Pohole and Doedee debuts round 1, and I think Gooch is guaranteed now.

Plenty of other options available for his role...
I had Knight as one fighting to retain his position, with Competition from Gibson and MacKay ( who I believe has lost his spot from last year to Gibbs forcing Douglas down 1spot) Also Pohokle, Signorello can slot into his position.
But today you can add Davis, Murthy and Wilson to that list.

I still believe Pohokle will debut in Greenwood position from what I have seen.

Apparently Milera is dealing with tendinitis too. Damn.

Are these guys ever going to catch a break and complete a full PS?

Every year Knight goes down with an ankle, Milera has some issues. Doedee is next in line now, waiting for him to pop up with an injury any day now...

Reckon Poholke is a serious chance for round 1 now, given Knight won’t be there and Greenwood under a cloud.

Lock Gibson in round 1 now too.

Possible R1 team:
FF: Betts Jenkins Milera
HF: Lynch McGovern Douglas
C: Sloane M Crouch Atkins
HB: Laird Talia Keath
FB: Brown Hartigan Kelly
R: Jacobs B Crouch Gibbs
Int: Gibson Mackay Poholke Gallucci
Em: Doedee Seedsman Otten

MIA (injury): Walker, Greenwood, Knight, Smith

Not selected: Cheney, Hampton, O'Brien, Fogarty, McPherson, Himmelberg, Signorello, Dear, Davis

Not a bad unit, but well short of our best. Poholke to debut, Gallucci with just 1 game. All of the others have had a decent taste of AFL before.

Only 3 members of my R1 team will be put through the AFLX horror show - Kelly, Keath & Gallucci.

Because the team selected is clearly the bottom "available" 18 players on our list.

Completely agree.

Let's not have our first 22 injured playing the absolute mickey-mouse version of the game.

Give everyone else on the list a chance to put their names forward for spots in the JLT... and when they're there, they can put their names forwards for a spot in the 22.

So it was on Sportsday WA. Pyke said tendinitis had held Milera back a bit post Christmas (had done everything up until then), but should get back in full training in a few weeks.

Also mentioned Tex should be back in time for the 2nd JLT game, but they'll aim to get him ready for Round 1.

Few little things starting to add up unfortunately. Grand final team starts 5 weeks behind 10 other clubs in preseason preparations. Less room between end of season and Round 1 for whatever surgeries and treatments are needed.

Start slow, finish strong. Hope we don't get spooked and rush people back.
