Not sure where the trade Lonergan trade talk has come from , but reality is this season he is playing in a foriegn position where he has never played before . so he is not going to be a pro at it if he'd been playing there as a junior . He is a inside mid , he will be better for it after this year just like Swallow was when he went back for a year.
No one here is looking to trade him. The Richmond supporter politely asked what we think he is worth. There's a good 8-9 players I'd think of trading before Jesse. Thought he was one of our better players on Saturday. Finally getting a good run at it.

Can Dixon's ankle be fixed? It's been going on for years now and I can think of 6 games where he's been subbed out pretty early. Does he need an op or is it something he'll need to manage for his whole career?

Thats a really good question , he's had it for a while . I dare say the club know the history are are not selling the farm because of it.

Pretty sure he said he did it as a teenager and that he never got properly looked at.
Sounds like he's got it for good.

There is a thread in the rumours board that says the Triple M commentary team has been told Dixon is going to stay with the Suns. Good news, if true.

I think the Lions are looking at him through rose coloured glasses, which is understandable, he has kicked bags of 6 twice against them. I hope he stays but he knows his ankle is rooted and so do the medical team, he wont get more than a couple of years from us so 5 years at BIG coin has to be highly desirable. I think he will go and I just hope it isn't through the PSD.

It kinda reminds me of the Carey to Crows deal, the Crows were Crowing (forgive the pun) at getting one of the best players of all time, but his shoulder injuries meant that the reputation and what the Crows actually got were 2 very different things.

Hey guys,
Our ruck stocks are terrible with Pyke bad and Tippett having to play there atm. What do you think would be a fair price for Zac Smith? Do you think he would be greatly over the 350k max the swans can offer and what would you be looking in return?

Love the avatar FreeAgent1 I think Zac would be looking for more, rumours of him to Essendon don't know why anybody would want to go to the injectors but suspect they would be paying overs.

BTW Zac has been very good in the 2nds over the last few weeks so I except us to give him another senior shot over the next couple of weeks to give Tommy a much deserved rest.

With you looking at picking up Mills and/or Dunkley, your next picks will be late in the draft. As for coin to Zac, Essendon will trump you with that. Not sure you're in the game unless a player is involved. A Rhys Shaw 4 year deal won't get it done.

I was more thinking

Zac smith and 37 for Craig Bird and our 3rd
Your 3rd would be pick 105. Can you tell us why Bird has been languishing in the NEAFL the past 7-8 weeks. No disrespect but we want to get to top 4 where you guys are. Picking up players who can't get a game in a top 4 team wouldn't make sense. We'll play hard ball or he can test his luck in the draft.

Under that logic we should'nt have got Hallahan , Hawks and Swans are elite because they have 4-5 elite mids .

TBH i think outside of hawks and Freo Bird would walk into most midfield. the only reason he isnt is due to sydney's best players all play his position Kennedy/Parker/Mitchell. I think the difference between him and Mitchell is very small.

I have no doubt you guys would be in a stonger trading position, I was just saying our 1st ruck spot is open and he is good enough and those type of positions in teams in premiership windows dont always come up. That being said with all our draft picks basically gone this year, I struggle to see us pulling it off...

Believe it or not we don't actually need mids
We just need fit mids!
My biggest concern is fitting Ablett Prestia Swallow O'Meara Miller Martin Bennell and Hallahan under the cap
I'm not sure waht we actually need to trade for?
Like someone said- best available - if it's a lightning quick in and under mid - sobeit

Actually we need Eddy Betts or LeCras or Maurice

Yep and he wasn't getting a game earlier this year before the injuries hit our mids.
His form wasn't great, which happens to most players when they attempt to quickly adjust to a new team structure, which was why he was dropped. Since he's come back, he's been one of our best every game. He'll continue to be one of the best even with Prestia and Jaeger back.

I agree next year you'll find Hallshan at the bottom of every pack dishing it out to Prestia Ablett and O'Meara.. Love him..
Trying his heart out..
Just he doesnt have many team mates in the right spots to give it to atm.
