He moved one team up three spots and another down 1...

Should I post a picture of a laughing man every time someone puts a team down 1 spot from last year? Or three up?

Are you kidding? Freo finishing last? Predictions are supposed to have some semblence of reality, not just vain fantasy. "Maybe, just maybe if I wish hard enough, Collingwood will come last?" Get a grip.....

I think he was more pointing out that he doesn't believe Essendon could finish above Carlton in 2012.

Not suggesting Essendon are better than Carlton but I would say that I believe they have more room for improvement.

If you're going to joke around, at least do it right... Port have to finish top 4.

If anything you've got the most overrated list in the comp, also the 4 players that you've named are the only kids with potential to be half decent at your club.

Reeks of jealousy this post.

Gaff, Shuey, Darling and NN half decent?

LOL.

For a club who has achieved SFA and has never even made finals two years straight in their entire history you should know all about "half decent".

So if Freo's list is so good why are they using so many picks in this weakend draft?

Why? Because they lack depth and have recruted poorly in the past.

Your talls are getting old and the replacements haven't come on and trading in Kepler Bradley, Jack Anthony and soon to be Zac Dawson says plenty. These guys will be lucky to deliver you any more than "half decent" performances.

Fyfe and Ballantyne are the recent success stories and Mundy and Barlow are good players, but you need to do better than that more often to consistantly challenge for top 4.

More than happy for the Eagle to top up with a couple more good kids with our only two picks under 30 this draft.:thumbsu::)

Darling half decent:p still chuckling about that one.:D

PS And no one is guaranteed a GF spot in any year.

Out of all the interstate teams, at the moment WC have a best list. There I said it! To much people seem to think that it's Cox Glass Kerr Lynch & Embley Nicoski Priddis Waters that carried the team in 2011, no that's not the case! WC were good this year because they had a whole list to choose from & they got an even contribution from there whole team. Look at there young players age for a second.

Brown 23
Gaff 19
Masten 23
Natanui 21
Selwood 21
Sheppard 20
Shuey 21
Stevens 20
Swift 21
MacKenzie 23
Kennedy 23
Hurn 23
Darling 19
Smith 21
Lycett 19
Schoefield 23
Brennan 21
Weeden 20
Stevensen 22
McGovern 19

None of those players have reached their peak yet.

With some good middle aged players
LeCras
Hill
Waters
Dalziell
Rosa
Butler
Strijk
Hams

Where WC will be good in, in the future is their defence post Glass. I think it will do very well with MacKenzie Schofield Brown as the 3 talls. With a strong Natanui taking over when Cox retires he will be palming the ball down to Shuey S.Selwood Gaff & Stevens throat. I would not be at all suprised if WC played of in the GF next year. After all they do have the youngest list out of the top5 teams. Youth on their side. They will overtake Geelong.

Too many people seem to think that Ottens, Scarlett, Bartel, Chapman Kelly, Enright, and Corey that carried the team in 2011, no that's not the case! But Cats have
Horlin-Smith - 19
Smedts - 19
Bews - 18
Brown - 21
Cowan - 21
Christensen - 21
Duncan - 21
Gillies - 21
Horlin-Smith - 20
T.Hunt - 22
Menzel - 21
Simpson - 23
Smedts - 20
Vardy - 24
West - 23

None of these players have reached their peak yet.

With some good middle-aged players:
Byrnes - 26
Hawkins - 23
Lonergan - 27
Mackie - 27
Selwood - 23
Stokes - 26
Taylor - 25
Varcoe - 24

Where Geelong will be good in, in the future is their ruck post Ottens. I think it will do very well with West, Simpson and Vardy as the 3 talls. With a strong Simpson taking over now that Ottens has retired he will be palming the ball down to Selwood, Duncan, Cowan and Christensens throat. I would not be at all suprised if Geelong played off in the GF next year. After all they do have the best list out of the top 5 teams. Quality on their side. They will not be overtaken.

The bolded young players havent shown that much, not saying they wont
and the middle aged bolded arent anything special

When did I say that our list is so good? I said that your list is overrated, which it is (especially NN). And also just because my team doesn't play constant finals, doesn't mean I don't know anything about football.

forget the other guy who's semi trolling but i would love you to name freo's better 2 young mids, their better developing KPF and their better young ruck-man.
Do i need to start a Fyfe, Hill, Clarke and ????? vs gaff, shuey, NN and Darling. Half decent

NN is better than Clarke at the moment
If Hill learns to break a tag then he will be better than Darling
Fyfe is better than both Shuey and Gaff put together
And I'll make ????? Morabito even though I don't need him because Fyfe counts as 2 basically.

So is hill your KPF now?

NN is better than clarke
Fyfe is marginally better than Shuey
Gaff is better than Hill
Darling is better than morabito(he's the closest thing you have to a young KPF atm)

Morabito is a winger, he isn't a KPF & he is a bigger talent than Darling.

Gaff isn't better than Hill, when Gaff starts to get the #1 tag at WC & handles it, you can say he is better, right now, no. He is nothing more than a sub player right now, not even a bonafide lock in their best 21.

WC supporters in this thread are just plain embarrassing. You had absolutely bugger all injuries in 2011 & you rely on the likes of Cox, Glass & co who are close to the end.

Morabito's not a KPF omg i didn't realise that:rolleyes: i was making a point. do i need to start a poll gaff and darling vs Morabito and hill who would you take? Trust me Gaff and Darling would win that one easily so therefore toss off:thumbsu:

Go ahead and do it

I think you would be pleasantly suprised. Gaff has never copped a tag. Hill was getting the hard tag in his first season

fev to have a big impact at whatever club picks him up.

Michael Barlow to have a big impact after recovering from his broken legs

West Coast to make Granny

Roos to make top 6, Petrie to be top 2-3 goalkickers

GWS to not win a game

???

Think Simpson will surprise a few who haven't seen him play before. Been on the list for about 4 years now, and fair to say he looked a fair way off it in his first 2. Think it was one game he played at home this year, might have been against the Gold Coast (was at Skilled) where he did very well.

Small sample size I know, but he's certainly big enough to be the #1 ruckman with Vardy / West rotating as the backup / resting forward.

Let's be serious, as it stands there is Geelong and Collingwood closely followed by Hawthorn. Then there is West Coast and Carlton, followed quite futher behind by the chasing pack. The 2012 will come from this group, no doubt. It is just a question of how much teams from this group improve and drop off. The only team close to them is St Kilda, but they are really the unknown of 2012.

Then from 7-14 is a realitively even group of clubs. All could shoot up or drop down next season, there are too many variables involved to work out. They could finish in any of the places mentioned.

The bottom few will be Port Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney. There may upset a couple of top quality teams along the way, but don't have the consistancy to push into the top 8.

For the teams mentioned between 7-14 that include Freo, Essendon, North Melb, Richmond, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney & West Bulldogs it all depends on gradual improvement in youngsters, drop off in older players and players ability to return and prevent injuries.

My prediction is Hawthorn or Collingwood (eeek) to win in it in 2012

GWS? And FWIW I reckon the Lions are creeping into the group above
