We get all the NFC games here so it's good that there are Saturday and Sunday games. I can wake up Sunday morning and watch the TB @ Phil game live on Sunday morn and not have to tape it. Of course the S.F @ G.B is on Monday here so I'll need to tape that one.

Rams still look strong!! :D

I'll take the Packers, at home, and Tampa this week. Packers will then beat the Bears for the third time this year and the Rams will take the Bucs out, setting up a Green Bay-St. Louis NFC championship game.

Unfortunately, I think Faulk will run all over the Packers porous run-defense, setting up the pass and they'll win something like 38-24 (Favre and Green keep em in it).

Super Bowl will be Rams-Steelers. Rematch of Super Bowl XIV, in 1980, which the Steelers won 31-19. Much different era though.

Super Bowl is in New Orleans, in a dome on Astroturf - gotta go with St. Louis.

Any other year it would be outside on grass giving any opponent a much better shot. It worked out well for the Rams this year.

FOX broadcast?
LBF, my carrier is Foxtel and they only carry only NFC - affiliated with Fox in the U.S. Our other major cable carrier, Optus, has the ESPN feed. Fortunately for me I have access to Foxtel even though they don't show the Cowboys very often there is still a chance to see them.

Next year when we are on the rise I am sure the programmers will show us a few times. Looking forward to a glorious year ahead. :D

A few weeks ago, I forecast a Super Bowl with Packers vs Raiders. Oakland has choked end-season. Not a good sign for going into the play-offs. Steelers look more likely at this stage.

I'm not going to stop harping about the Packers taking the NFC championship and Super Bowl Victory. If they get stopped, I'll gladly come in to this site and offer up my own head on a pike for ridicule.

On the other hand, WHEN they win, I will be setting up an altar for you to all worship. ;) :D

Hat - Back in the early 70's - I'm dating myself here.
CBS which had the NFC game almost always brodcast the Boys into most all the AFC markets which had no NFC dominate team in that general area. Plus with the Boys winning a lot and being in the playoffs for 20 out of 21 years in a row the viewers saw more of them.
And Yes you are correct as the Boys get better you will see more of them. But the flip side is they will be given 3 Sunday and Monday night games as they return to their winning ways.

Yes. This weekend the station that does monday night football gets the Saturday games.
Both of them.
Next week you get 2.
This is the way they structure the contract so the other networks are not shut out for the playoffs.

Thanks for the clarification LBF that explains it then. I can't get too mad with our local cable station then.

NFC
Philadelphia 31, Tampa Bay 9
Green Bay 25, San Francisco 15
AFC
Oakland 38, NY Jets 24
Baltimore 20, Miami 3

ROUND 2:
-------------
NFC
Philadelphia at Chicago
Green Bay at St. Louis
AFC
Oakland at New England
Baltimore at Pittsburgh

Green Bay @ St Louis. This isn't to be missed. I might even take the day off work!!:D :D

Look for Faulk to run roughshod over the GB Defense and John Madden's lovechild - Brett Favre - to be picked off at least 3 times.

In the other games I take Chicago over the Eagles, Pittsburgh to beat Baltimore and New England to continue it's Cinderella season over the Raidahs!!

LOL, stop that Hat, you're starting to sound like Chris Berman on ESPN. Geez, he annoys me with all that Da Raaiiiddaahs and the frozen tundra of Lambau Field crap, plus every player has to have a stupid, very lame nickname, it's irritating. Give us a score and then p*ss off, you fool.

(takes deep breath) Sorry, still disappointed about the Jets demise. Well, that's why I have a team in each conference.
Go Pack, Go. :D :D

Hippie, I don't get to see ESPN so the resemblance is purely coincedental.:D :D

John Madden is irritating me of late with his Brett Favre infatuation. If you get to see any game that Madden and Summerall do even if GB are not involved you are sure to get plenty of references to the almighty Brett.

Nothing personal but I hope the Rams grind them into the dirt, err carpet this week.:p

John Madden is, to put it kindly, an oaf.

His commentary is about as profound as a grade school book report, as if the people watching don't know a thing about the game.

"Now this guy, see here, is a tackle. And the tackle's job, you see, is to tackle the quarterback...so he'll hit him hard, BOOM, like that, you see."

Oddly enough that seems to be why he's so popular.

Do you usually leave yourself wide open like this?

Dennis I think that both NFC games are mid-afternnon games in the States so I think there should be a game on Sunday and Monday morning out time around 7:30 ish.

Check out the online Foxtel guide.

http://www.foxtel.com.au/foxtelguide

Sunday Morning
7.30am Gridiron NFL, Philadelphia @ Chicago Fox Sports 2

Monday Morning
7.30am Gridiron NFL, Green Bay @ St Louis Fox Sports 2

Hat: Your carrier does not have ESPN to get the AFC half of the send.

Also on the games I would pick all the home teams to win.

The highest scoring game should be Rams vs Packers.
The over and under here is 55 pts.
Even though this is excessive I would take the over.

Biggest struggle is Steelers vs Ravens.
Take the under.

Raiders have not impressed me that much.
They have been too inconsistant this year.
Patroits win big here.

Chicago vs the Eagles. Another take the under here.
Chicago will get about 21 points here.
Eagles at least 14.
Chicago should run up the gut on them all day.
