You pretty much describe every year apart from 97-98.

Yeah 4-0 to start 96, though 3 at home I think. 3 beltings too from memory. 96 points vs eventual grand finalist Sydney in round 1 I think.

In Round 13 of 1996 we got belted at home vs Melbourne who were having a dreadful season. Adelaide led by 3 goals in the third quarter and were hammered by almost 10 goals despite good weather conditions and no rain. I remember the crowd cheered Balme after the game and Shaw copped it completely opposite and his home got egged and car damaged. I think after this dreadful day at home, we became a very different side in the near future.

Wheels fell off.. Modra wasn't the same after that dog Worsefold ran through him in round 2, should have won that game.. we led all day until midway through the final quarter over in WA. expectation of the whole state. we went into the year as a top 2 flag favorite from memory.. i was 11 in 94 lol but rusted on and obsessed since 1991. We lost games at home that we should never have been losing against the likes of the dogs, Richmond and bottom side Sydney ancd not to mention being done by 90+ points at home to the Hawks. Cornes lost the playing group, injuries and behavior by individual players turned the season into a train wreck.

I wonder how 95 & 96 would have went if Rehn didnt go down with that knee injury... we will never know but Robert Shaw only coact Rehn for 6 games in total.. and in those 6 games we won 4 out of 6. He was the best big man in the game in 1994
